Thank you so much for your donation! My students were so excited to use the new procession instruments in our classroom.
We use the instruments to improvise and compose music! We love to sing and play instruments in our classroom! My students are from pre-k through fifth grade, and every student has the opportunities to make music together. They are always thrilled to explore new sounds and musical ideas in a group!
Next year, we plan on continuing to grow our instrument inventory, and we will use percussion in or choral and orchestral ensembles!”
Your donations have made a tremendous impact on my students. They learned how to play instruments, self-confidence, and self-discipline in learning songs and performing for others. I could not have done it without your contributions. I truly do appreciate your effort and monetary contributions!
These students spent their lunches practicing and learning their instruments and songs. They dedicated most of their year in getting better in the hope of performing for the school. They eventually performed for the school and did an outstanding job. They were so proud of themselves. It was such an impactful show. Younger students asked them for autographs and the kids felt like rock stars. It was amazing.”

Thank you so much. Not only were we able to provide an instrument for a student that had none, we were also extremely successful with our marching band performance. It was one of our best productions in our history.
We continue to use this instrument to this day and are able to provide a keyboard instrument to those interested in either continuing their interest in percussion or switching from their current instrument to try something new and join our award winning percussion section.
My students were so excited to use their new instruments! The drums that we were able to purchase were almost as tall as the younger students. When they walked in and saw them for the first time, the kids were squealing with JOY!
We have been using the drums to practice keeping the steady beat in younger grades. In older grades, we have been practicing playing more complex rhythms on the drums. The drums are so helpful with this because they are very loud and can be heard.
The next steps I'd like to take would be to add to our collection so that more than three students can play these drums at a time. I would like to eventually have a class set of 20 drums so that we can participate in drum circle activities.
With this fully funded project we have been able to expand our classroom song writing abilities. We write original children's songs with topics from their classrooms. This technology helps our students design music with modern sounds at their fingertips.
We have the ability to teach students now with equipment they see producers use on popular streaming apps. Real world connections to music matter and you have made this possible.
We appreciate you expanding the capabilities of our students each day through your generosity!”
It has been a rough couple of years. But thanks to the generosity of all donors who gave to this project, it has made it easier.
We were finally able to have band again this year, and the look on my students faces when they got to use the new trombone and trumpet was unforgettable. They couldn't believe that complete strangers would just give money to our classroom to get new instruments. They never realized how many kind-hearted people are out there.
This is the gift that keeps on giving because I will now be able to offer an instrument to two additional students each year who might not have joined for financial reasons.
Thank you again for your kind and generous donations during these crazy times for everyone.”
My students have truly enjoyed exploring and learning about these different percussion instruments. My first graders used them to create soundscapes to "The Little Engine That Could" and reenacting the story. My second graders are exploring different rhythms in a world drumming unit.
Using different types of instruments creates musical dexterity and deepens their learning. Using instruments from a different culture deepens their understanding and compassion for diversity.
The talking drums and gankogui are class favorites. They love squeezing the drum and making "bounce" sounds with it. The gankogui is very loud and shows a great differentiation in timbre between the large and small bells.
These classroom experiences wouldn't have been possible with your support. Thank you so much!”
We are so grateful for you incredible generosity in providing this sound equipment!
Our band program is a rare group nationally that also implements modern sound reinforcement through microphones and live sound electronics for when we do performances of popular music. The SM48's are wonderful vocal mics that will be durable for years to come. The SM57's are tried-and-true instrument mics that are the definition of "built to last."
Between the microphones, cables, and litany of stands, you have put us on our way to allowing students to work with live sound and to perform in large concert venues.
Thank you so much for your contributions and all of your support!”

It has been several years since this project was funded. I am still so thankful for your donations. Instruments last many, many years and have an impact on hundreds of students at my school. Over the years, we have used them in so many different ways, it would take hours to explain them all to you, so I'll just describe a few.
My young students are currently exploring how to play the xylophone correctly and how and when they can contribute to class. We are exploring how to play softly and how to play loudly. We are exploring how to play fast and slow. Sometimes were play a "bouncing" pattern and sometimes we play a "flowing, smooth" pattern. Exploration over time allows us to understand how the instrument works.
Once we've explored, we are able to make more formal music together. Students have played accompaniments to songs I have created, and they have also played accompaniments they have created themselves! Students have also learned to improvise in pentatonic and diatonic keys!
The possibilities you have given us are literally endless! Thank you so much for your support.”

This project, after over a year of being funded, is FINALLY getting used! This year, these stands are going to be helpful to help with COVID-19 safety procedures. Without these stands, to properly put the instruments away, they would be stored in cases and put back on racks. Instead, because of your generosity, instead of putting the instruments into cases, the instruments can be kept out on these stands and they can dry after they are sanitized. It prevents the case also having to be sanitized. I am so thrilled this project not just saved me.
Musically yours,”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Nugent
