I Can't Hear It!
Funded Mar 28, 2025Thank you so much for supporting our students! This project of headphones will help our students be focused and engaged while on their computers, whether it's working to create projects, engaging in online learning modules, or taking mandatory state assessments.
Your kindness and support will go to helping students with basic school supplies that are needed in this 21st century. These headphones are a necessary supply for all students, so that they, and their classmates, can focus on the necessary tasks of learning in our modern world.
Thank you so much for your generosity. Your support greatly helps our students.”

Funded Feb 7, 2025My early learners LOVE the new materials you were able to provide us through this project.
My young learners are working with identifying letters and producing accurate sounds from those letters, building the fundamentals and foundational skills to become great readers.
The students love the materials, and ask to use them often. The materials help make learning engaging and fun. When working with students, I use one of the alphabet games to start off with, engaging them in learning all their letters and letter sounds. After that, we work on Phonemic Awareness skills that will develop all their pre-reading skills, ultimately making them well-rounded and supported readers.
Thank you so much for your support of our young learners. You have helped make learning accessible and reachable for all our students!”

Mrs. Gryzynger

Funded Jan 29, 2023Thank you so much for your generosity in funding my project. As an Interventionist, I need more specific materials to teach my students explicitly. This project did just that! I was able to get some much needed resources to help teach my students.
The decodable readers and letter sets were a much needed resource to help students in building their reading foundations, and the fraction kits were to help make fraction understanding more concrete. We were even able to provide an outside table to outside learning and reading.
The materials in this project help so many of students. Everyone in the school is able to utilize the resources, making learning happen for so many.
Thank you for your support of our school and students. You are truly appreciated.”

Peace and Mindfulness
Funded Aug 25, 2023My students and staff are so grateful to have a peaceful space to meet, plan, and learn. The materials from this project allowed me to create a large space with many types of work and meeting areas, to aide in productivity and collaboration.
Everyone was so excited to walk into the room and see all the comfortable and peaceful work spaces. Many groups have already used the different spaces to work and collaborate; students have worked in the space to do learning activities and quiet work, and staff have worked in the space planning and collaborating.
Now that the space is setup and the environment is open for learning, we will be having our staff professional development for staff in this space! Much better for collaboration and sharing of ideas!
Thank you so much for supporting this project. It is a wonderful space for both students and staff.”

Funded Oct 5, 2022We are so excited to have received this DonorsChoose project. The materials in this project are used directly with students every day, in building reading skills and development.
My students were so excited to used the word building letters, and then read those same words in the phonics reader books we received. They wee able to better apply the phonics skill being taught because they got practice building words in isolation and also reading words in text.
The next steps for my students is to continue developing our reading skills and become proficient readers. All the materials in this project will help us do this, for many years to come. These materials don't just meet of the needs of my current students, but will continue to meet the needs of all my future students as well.
Thank you so much for your support of my classroom and students.”

Funded Aug 21, 2022Thank you so much for supporting reading development in our school. This project focused primarily on phonemic awareness and phonics skill development for our younger learners, and also to help fill gaps in learning for our older elementary students.
My students are using these resources in small groups where I work with students based on specific skill need. These materials and resources provide valuable explicit instruction, and my students are already showing great gains.
It is wonderful that the resources in this project are not consumable, meaning, I, and other teachers, can continue to use these resources with other students many years to come. This makes this project even more immeasurable!
Thank you so much for donating to my project!”

Funded Mar 8, 2022Thank you so much for your generosity in helping to get my project funded! This project had a lot of technology pieces, all of which directly support our students in learning.
We were able to purchase a projector for our Cafeteria/Assembly hall, giving all our students better experience for our assemblies and large gatherings. It also helped for our combined in-person and virtual attendees for assemblies.
We also were able to get projection TVs for our hallways. We use these to highlight special happenings, as well as highlight positive student behavior and character traits.
The students love having these pieces of technology in our building. They look to see who is highlighted, being honored, and what's happening around the school and community.”

Helping Students Overcome Learning Loss
Funded Mar 10, 2022Thank you so much for supporting my school and classroom with essential materials and tools to help our students in the area of reading and literacy.
The books I purchased with this project are so important to the skill development of our young readers. These new texts are great for helping students develop reading skills and feel confident while they are learning to read.
Reading is an ever-evolving process. For new readers, we give them materials and skills to attack words and be able to read them. For experienced readers, we give them materials to continue their reading development and to build readers that enjoy reading.
My students love using these decodable texts, as they help them feel like strong, confident readers. Thank you for giving them materials to help them do that!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Gryzynger
Phonics is Crucial to Reading Development
Funded Sep 21, 2021My students were so excited to receive all our new materials for reading. We have already used some of the decodable readers; others will be used once we get to those phonics patterns later in the school year! In our small groups, students have been using the magnet letter boxes to build words and practice putting sounds to letters to blend sounds into words! The tactile piece to learning how to read is so important!
Reading in our classroom is learned through focusing on phonics patterns, building words, and then applying everything we have learned in reading authentic texts with those phonics patterns. These materials provide the all-important hands-on piece to our learning.
All of my students have been able to take advantage of these materials. From working with the letter boxes in small group to reading decodable texts, my students are able to access their new learning in different ways. We are so excited and appreciative of these reading materials. Thank you for making this project a reality!”

Funded May 11, 2021Our First grade students were so excited to use these new Base 10 blocks while learning math concepts. We use them daily during math learning, and they are kept in our personal math manipulative boxes so we can use them any moment we need them. Learning place value of numbers is an incredibly important skill and concept in first grade, building the foundation to understanding numbers. These Base 10 blocks give us a concrete way to understand numbers, building them, combining them, and deconstructing them.
My students were not there when I unpacked the box, but the next day when we were doing 2-digit by 2-digit addition equations, I put them out for the kids to use, and they were so excited! They were able to build the numbers, and seeing the number model in Base 10 blocks really helped them with the concept.
These Base 10 blocks will be used for many years to come, helping many more students make better connections to numbers and mathematics. Thank you for helping not just this group of students, but many more first graders in the future.”
