  • Outdoor Play to Keep Covid-19 at Bay

    Thank you so much for your generous donation that allowed us to receive muddy buddy rain suits for all of our early childhood classes. The students are already enjoying them during our wet and muddy spring season - and as teachers, we love saying, "Yes! Go jump in the puddles! Go play in the mud!"

    The students love seeing the rain suits come out and knowing that they won't have any limitations on their play. They also fit over snow pants, so they can remain warm and dry during the transitional season.

    These suits will be used by hundreds of children throughout the years for plenty of play and outdoor exploration. Thank you so much for playing a part in this!”

    Children loved being able to jump in (and even lay in) puddles, and our time playing in nature encouraged our resilience and creative thinking. We played hard in these rain suits, and we know that we will enjoy them in the spring too! These will last for years to come and many students will be able to enjoy them.

"There's no such thing as bad weather, only bad clothes" - classic Norwegian saying. One of the greatest barriers to outdoor play, especially in Northern Minnesota, is the proper gear. The gear you wear outside can make the difference between having fun and playing with your friends, or feeling miserable and shivering! As it is important for children to play outside, rain or shine, I am requesting help purchasing coverall rain gear for all of the students in my early childhood classes based at our school. Your generosity will be so appreciated when my students are able to comfortably splash in puddles, explore streams, and play in sticky springtime snow without soaking through their snowpants!
