  • Fuel Your Girl Power!

    Funded Jul 30, 2020

The students are THRILLED with their refillable water bottles! They especially like they are personalized and reusable! Our school just installed new refillable water bottle stations. These bottles are especially helpful because the drinking fountains are closed due to COVID.

Many of our students were coming to school with no water bottle or reusing a disposable bottle. In this heat, having water is critical! The students are excited to use the new water bottle filling stations as well.

    I completely appreciate your support!”

  • Run Like a Cougar!

    Funded Feb 9, 2020

Thank you so much for your generous donation so the students in the Running Club could have new Nike shoes! These students showed up at school as early as 7:00 to run for 20-40 minutes, rain or shine.

When the students first saw their new shoes they were overjoyed. Nearly all of them had never owned a pair of Nikes and couldn't believe the shoes were theirs to keep! It made them even happier that they were all matching shoes. So, when anyone saw them on campus, they knew they were a member of the Running Club.

With the onset of COVID-19, I was able to keep in touch with the students via Google Meet. We all can't wait to resume at the end of summer. Even though we will need to socially distance, we are still able to run-6 feet a part!”

    With gratitude,

  • Scooting Into Fitness!

    Funded Apr 25, 2019

The students are "over-the-moon" excited about their new scooters. They're going to work perfectly on our newly coated black top. We have several exciting actives planned that involve an environmental focus and a fitness component, just to name a couple.

With your generous donations, we have enough scooters for one to two classes to participate. The students will be able to use the scooters to improve their cardiovascular endurance as well as their muscular strength and endurance, all while having fun!!!

We look forward to having a great, fun-filled year with the new scooters!

Thank you again for your support and generosity!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. Ford

  • Run Like a Cougar!

    Funded Mar 1, 2019

I could explain how the shoes for our running club are life changing, instead, I'm going to use quotes from the students...

My feet feel so good after running!

I know I can run 100 miles in these shoes!

I'm having lots of fun with my new, colorful shoes!

I'm grateful. My other shoes had holes and rips.

They are so much easier to run in than my hand-me-downs. They feel so much better.

I like running and my new shoes feel good.

    You made us happy!

I will beat my goal of 100 miles with these new shoes.

I had outgrown my old shoes, but I was still wearing them. These shoes are sturdy and good for running.

We can reach our goals now!

The new shoes make me run so fast!

They are comfortable. I run a lot faster than I used to.

I really needed new shoes, but my mom and dad needed money for rent.

These shoes look good on us! I love the colors!

The new shoes feel good when I run!

I'm going to get running with the new shoes you gave me!

We're now a big running squad.

I am thankful for your donation and helping so many families.

I've been wearing my shoes every day. They're helping me run fast!

It means the world for these students to have new shoes, but more importantly to know that people care for them and want them to succeed in this world. Your generous donation will help them realize that they can set goals, and achieve them. More importantly, they know they have supporters cheering them on and hoping for their success as well.”

The students have a nice track to run on, but usually lack appropriate footwear. When I was sizing the children yesterday, a child had on shoes that were a size 5. He actually needed a size 7.5. With great running shoes in the correct size, students will be able to run in comfort. All of the research shows that aerobic activity boosts academic performance. My goal is two-fold, help students be active and fit AND help boost the neurons in their brains to improve their learning. By running 1-2 miles in short bursts during the day, they will be better able to focus in class as well.
