Engineering, Building, and Breaking Bridges!
Funded Apr 21, 2013Thank you for making the end of our year memorable, exciting, and full of learning! Students really enjoyed acting like engineers as they designed their bridges. In their end of year comments they said that this project was one of their favorites and made them feel accomplished.
I was excited to finally do a project with my students that related to what I studied in college - engineering. I was able to connect with a friend (who currently works as a bridge engineer) and she was able to provide feedback and advice to students. It was a rewarding experience for all of us.
Thank you for making this happen!”

Into The Wild
Funded Oct 16, 2012Your incredibly generous donations made a once in a lifetime, unforgettable learning experience possible for our 9th grade team. The students enjoyed using their three pieces of homemade equipment - a soda can stove, a mint can headlamp, and a "you choose" piece of equipment (such as tables, chairs, and coolers).
Without your support, this type of trip and opportunity would not be possible. Your donations allowed us to secure transportation, campsites, and food for 60 students and adults.
Thank you again for your support and generosity!”

Cardboard Boats: How Can They Possibly Float?
Funded Sep 5, 2012After reading through my students final reflections on this project, it is clear to me that the level and depth of understanding would not have been possible without doing this type of hands-on, project-based learning. Without your generous donations, which allowed us to buy hundreds of rolls of packing tape, the students would not have been able to properly seal and construct their cardboard boats.
I wish you could seen their expressions on the day of the races as they got into the water and realized that all of their calculations proved to be accurate and that all of their hard work paid off as they were floating away. Even in rainy and cold weather, they didn't want to get out - the students wanted to stay in the boats as long as they could.
Thank you again for your generosity and for wanting to see young minds flourish and become excited as they learn about and explore the scientific world.”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Smith
