  • Dressing Up Learning: Clothing-Themed Books and Materials for Pre-K Minds

    Funded Dec 18, 2024

Thank you so much for the clothing related books and toys! Students have been having so much fun with our new pretend washing machine and ironing board. They love the buttons and the spinning motion. They have also enjoyed dressing up like community helpers who wear special clothing as uniforms. It's so fun to watch them engage in pretend play because there's so many opportunities for them to practice language and communication with peers! The books are a great addition to story time and really bring the new vocabulary to life. We really appreciate your kindness and support!”

  • Organizing Bright Futures: Shelves for Our Preschool Special Education Classroom!

    Funded Dec 18, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation of storage shelves for our Pre-K special education classroom! These shelves have been a wonderful addition to our learning environment, helping us stay organized and creating a more structured and inviting space for our students.

With the new shelves, we can neatly store learning materials, sensory items, and classroom supplies, making everything more accessible for both the students and teachers. This has made transitions between activities smoother and has helped our students feel more independent as they learn to locate and put away items on their own.

The organized space has also contributed to a calmer, more focused environment where our students can thrive. Your generosity has had a meaningful impact on their daily routines and has allowed us to spend more time focusing on learning and growth rather than searching for materials.

We are so grateful for your support in making our classroom a more functional and welcoming space for our students. Your kindness truly makes a difference in their learning experience.”

  • "Classroom Comfort: Tissues for All!"

    Funded Dec 18, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation of tissues, hand sanitizer, and hand-washing items for our Pre-K classroom! These essential supplies are making such a positive impact on our daily routines and helping to keep our little learners healthy and safe.

In a classroom full of energetic preschoolers, staying clean and germ-free is a top priority. The tissues have helped us minimize the spread of germs and teach children self-care skills. The pump bottles allow us to have hand sanitizer readily available in several different areas of the classroom. The hand lotion is critical for us as we are washing our hands multiple times a day --sometimes multiple times per hour!

Your kindness has provided us with peace of mind, knowing that we can keep our classroom a clean and welcoming space for everyone. From runny noses to messy hands, your support ensures we're ready for whatever the day brings!

Thank you for caring about our students' well-being and for supporting their learning journey in such a meaningful way.”

For many of our families, your kindness has provided much-needed support, and we are deeply grateful for the relief it brings. You've made our classroom feel like an even more caring and nurturing environment.

Your generosity has nourished not only our students' bodies but also their hearts, and for that, we are endlessly thankful.”

The interactive apps and programs have been invaluable for helping our students develop language, social, and fine motor skills in ways that are engaging and accessible for them.

For some of our students who are currently nonspeaking, the iPad has opened new doors for communication. It's also become a source of joy during sensory breaks, providing calming activities and opportunities for self-regulation.

    Funded Dec 18, 2024

Thank you so much for generously replacing some of our very favorite classroom items! Students were so excited to have all the pieces to their favorite puzzles and games. The bug sorting activity and ice cream scooping game are a particular favorite. We have one student who plays with the piggy bank and cookie jar toys EVERY day. • Push, Touch, and Play: Interactive Books for PreK

    Funded Dec 18, 2024

Thank you so much for your generous donation of sound books for our Pre-K classroom! The children were absolutely delighted to explore these interactive books, and their excitement was contagious.

These books have brought stories to life in such a magical way. The engaging sounds not only capture the children's attention but also help develop their listening and comprehension skills. It's amazing to see their faces light up as they press the buttons to hear the animals, vehicles, and musical notes.

The sound books have quickly become a favorite in our classroom library, encouraging even our most hesitant learners to dive into reading. They're sparking curiosity, building vocabulary, and making storytime an interactive adventure that the kids truly look forward to every day.

Your kindness has made such a positive impact on our classroom, and we are so grateful for your support in nurturing a love of reading at an early age.”

My students are 3-5 year olds who are inquisitive, energetic, and in need of hands-on learning! I teach in a full-day Pre-K special education classroom at a public school in Washington, DC. My students come from a neighborhood with lots of needs, but regardless of circumstances, they deserve the same top notch instruction and materials as their peers in wealthier areas of the city. My students have been diagnosed with autism or other disabilities that affect language and social skills. They require intensive individualized instruction to learn new academic skills and structured time to practice independent living skills and age appropriate play. The smiles on their faces when they master new skills are contagious! My students are living proof that early intervention helps kids with disabilities conquer new goals every day. I couldn't be prouder to be their teacher during their crucial first years of school.
