  • Sharpening My Skills to Teach Better

    Funded Aug 8, 2019

    Having this writing program has allowed me the time I need to help my students grow and play harder music. This has also helped me get a stronger ear for ear training. I have also been able to challenge some of my students in way they never thought possible with the music worksheets I have been creating for them.to hon their skills. Over the past few months with finale, I have started to work on drills that have made me such a more powerful listener which has only made me that much better when it comes to listing to the notes my students are playing.

  • Stands for Health

    With all the help we received from these stands we have been able to save the students backs over the seasons that we've had them. The kids love the new stands my bass line use them on a daily basis even on days when they don't have rehearsal. The snare line uses the stands when they get tired but they do use them almost every day and they love the fact that we have them on those long rehearsal days. We are so grateful to all those that have helped us get all of the items that we have asked for to help grow our program and bring us back to prominence.”

    This classroom project was brought to life by New Teacher Fund and 24 other donors.
The drum stands we are getting is to insure that the students don't continue to hurt themselves by wearing these large drums for an overly long period of time. Many of our students are small in frame and it is hard for them to carry the drums for hours at at a time unlike our other band members who play horns. These stands will also help us with our new Jr. high School marching drumline, which will consist of mostly 6th through 8th graders. By helping these students and making sure they have the equipment they need to have a very very successful season and future with our marching program.

About my class
