Help Us Achieve! iPad2 in Need!
Funded Feb 13, 2012Thank you so very much for the generosity you've shown the students in my classroom. The iPad2 has been an even bigger hit with my students than I could have imagined.
With the vast array of applications available for the iPad students have been learning subjects ranging from math to reading and social studies. Best of all, the students have so much fun that everyone is eager to use the iPad at every opportunity. This means in addition to learning the technology and the subject matter, we are also incorporating important lessons about being patient, taking turns and working with a partner.
This equipment would never have been part of the classroom resources for my students without the support of wonderful donors like you. I appreciate it more than I can say.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Bendiksen

Funded Jan 12, 2011Thank you for making this project possible! My students have had such a wonderful time learning about gardening and healthy food. During the last rainy months of winter,we read our new books and learned about the life cycles of plants and animals. When spring came the children were so excited to use our mini greenhouses and start sowing plants for our garden. They have planted both flowers and vegetables. The children were especially excited to plant seeds in the clear gel of their window greenhouses. The gel allows the children to see what is usually hidden underground. They ran to their greenhouses every morning to see what had happened during the night. We have planted beans and corn, squash and sunflowers. They have started a seed collection and come back from lunch each day clutching seeds from apples and oranges, cherries and apricots. They come from home with avocado seeds and even the tiny seed of a strawberry. The whole experience has made them much more aware of the food they eat and how we get our fruits and vegetables. Thank you for making our learning so much fun!”

Funded Aug 30, 2010Your generous contributions to our art program have saved the day! Our kindergarten kids are having such fun creating masterpieces of their own, and you made it possible. We have new markers and craft sticks for making puppets and many other wonderful things. We can dig into projects and keep our clothes clean thanks to our new aprons. Paint and glue are kept safely away from shirts, and best of all they're washable. The children look forward to the days we have art. It is such an important part of a well rounded education. Budget cuts made it hard to provide the needed supplies, but thanks to your kindness we are able to continue offering exciting art activities to all our students. ”

The Amazing Race For Reading!
Funded Mar 12, 2010Thank you for your support of my class ! My students have been having such fun learning their sight words. We have been out racing to read several times in the last month, and each time is the highlight of our day. The once rather dry task of memorizing sight words, has become an eagerly anticipated activity.
The children enjoy taking turns racing the course, dressing up to direct traffic, and working as teams to read their sight words. The active nature of the game is perfect for our little ones who are always on the go, and the teamwork aspect gives everyone confidence that they will succeed. Our whole class has shown such growth in reading. Thank you for helping us on the road to reading success! ”
