Music for the Masses: Recorders for All!
Funded Dec 25, 2018Thank you so much for the recorders! You should have seen their faces when I passed them out! Or course they do not sound like the professionals they will sound like later in the year but all the same, they loved them. Your donation is forever tied to their musical journey and they are growing in empathy, creative abilities, and grit. Everyone remembers that instrument they played in elementary and we are so honored that you chose to help us secure that memory for them. Continue doing great things for our youth and we promise not to let you down!
Play on!”

Rockin' Recorders for Music Class!
Funded Mar 8, 2018YAY!!! Thank you so much for supporting my classroom and getting these recorders into the hands of my students. They were ecstatic to choose their colors and get to learning their first instrument. Oh those initial sounds - a bit shreaky - but hey, you have to start somewhere.
We will be performing for the community and our families soon and we will let them know of your kindness and support. The students feel it as well. Music is a powerful tool and we thank you for giving us these tools to make our space great!”

A Classy Clarinet for our Students!
Funded Oct 23, 2017Wow! Thank you for supporting our music class and allowing us to have a top notch clarinet in our wind ensemble. The kids were so excited to see the clarinet for the wind section and this clarinet is such high quality - we can truly tell the difference! Yamaha brands are some of the best instruments for advanced elementary students. This clarinet came just in time for our wintershow where we are performing 'Jingle Bells' and 'Ode To Joy' for our families and community members. We are truly honored that you took the time to support our class and wish you the happiest of holidays!”

Musical Recorders on the Rise!
Funded May 1, 2017Thank you so much for these recorders! For most of our students, this is their first wind instrument. You should see the excitement in their eyes when they receive their recorder but I will spare you the initial sounds in this first trimester. We'll start with the basic songs that most musicians know; the ubiquitous 'Hot Cross Buns' and 'Go Tell Aunt Rhody' but the magic happens when they take those lessons and build upon them to play jazz, Beethoven and other classics! Thank you so much for your donation to our arts program!”

Discovering the World of Music Through Literature!
Funded Mar 29, 2017Thank you so much for making this a #BestSchoolDay and a great start to Spring! We love to read and bring books alive with music so this will help us to so. I create 'book tracks' (like soundtracks) and find the actual music of the artists to play throughout the books. We jam. We dance. We get down but all the while we are learning!
I stay in contact with the graduates of my elementary school and I ask them what they remember. It's lessons like these, bringing the content to life through the arts, this is what sticks. You are a God send and I am so elated I actually get to say I know you!!! Now my kids get to 'know' you as well through your contributions! Blessings!”

Funded Apr 19, 2016Dear Inspirational Supporters!
Thank you so much for supporting our students in creating top level costumes and learning that their art can serve the purpose of entertainment AND be an impact for a cause greater than themselves. The show was absolutely amazing and during intermission, Zazu educated the audience on the plight of African lions. We sold out of the student made ornament donations in 5 minutes! This experience has been seared in the minds of our students and because they had access to the top level teaching artists in the field, they felt like professionals on the stage! Now I know they will go on and continue to be change agents in their community. Thank you again!

Funded Feb 4, 2016Thank you so much for taking the time out to donate to our class. It means so much that you care about music education and our students. The students are really excited about the recorders you donated to our class! It is a wonder watching my students grow from having little experience in producing music to understanding the mechanics of music and you have been a part of that. Our show is coming up and while we are singing and playing our instruments, we are indeed singing our gratitude to you! Thank you again!”

Going To and Through College! University Trips for Kids
Funded Aug 22, 2015Thank you so much for supporting my students with a bus to all of these colleges! And what a day! We first started at Pepperdine and I've always known about this beautiful campus but have never been there. The students' socks were knocked off! We had a tour guide who came to speak to them with an impactful message about staying focused and always be looking for opportunities. He has the same background as them so I know it hit home. We even went into the science building to see some high tech labs.
We then traveled to CSUN where we got a personal talk from the head of admissions (totally unscheduled!). The kids certainly got the best tips and advice for their applications. We ended up at UCLA and USC spoke to college students on the campuses who shared some great insight.
All in all, even though visiting multiple universities was exhausting, it was so worth it! Thank you for your assistance with getting my students TO and THROUGH college!”

Any Flutists in the House?
Funded Jan 20, 2016I can't express the gratitude that I feel right now knowing that our woodwind sections is growing and our new students, who may never have even seen a flute up close, now will have the opportunity to play one. Thank you, not only for your continuous support but for taking the time out to search and find my proposal to fund it. Every time you hear an orchestra or a band, please know you assisted in helping those tunes stay alive with music education. YOU have helped save the music and for that....we say thank you! :)”
