Many kindergarten students sit at group tables without spaces for their learning materials. We spend so much time with kindergarten students transitioning between picking up their writing folders, to handing them out, to going back for a mentor text to refer to, that it drastically reduces their actual learning and exploration time. With seat sacks, they have their books and materials on hand so they can get right to work. Seat sacks also allow students to keep their learning space tidy so they are not overwhelmed and/or distracted by a number of wonderful materials they use on a daily basis. These will allow my students, even at such a young age, to become the organized authors, readers, and explorers they dream of.
