  • Summer Projects for Our Music Program

  • Upgrading Our Guitar Program

    The instruments obtained in this fundraiser have already had a significant impact on our music program. The instruments are of such high quality, that my students are seeing, hearing and feeling the difference when they play/practice! Our previous guitars were close to fifteen years old, and in terrible shape. The "Action" on those instruments was very high off the fretboard, that the kids could barely play them. These instruments are being used in my 4th-8th grade general music classes, as well as in our band rehearsals EVERY day!!”

    Thank you so very much for your kind and generous donation to our school music program. The materials obtained through this project will go towards our nine general music grades (Kindergarten through eighth grades). I teach every student in our school (five hundred plus students), so we are constantly in need of replacing broken materials, and I continually work towards growing the program year by year. Our two after school bands also use all of these materials. We rehearse five days a week, as well as regularly gig, so all these materials come in very handy!”

  • Guitar Maintenance Time

    On behalf of our students and myself, I would like to thank you for you generosity in donating to our Donors Choose project. Many of the instruments we have in our classroom has been around for many years (some as old as 16 years!). Between the age, and the constant use, these instruments are not in the best of shape. With the completion of this project we were able to acquire materials to repair and/or do general maintenance to help get the instruments back into playable condition. The kids are really enjoying them!”

  • Soprano Recorders for Our School

    Funded Aug 8, 2023

    Thank you so much for your very generous donation to our school music program. The soprano recorders received from this project will serve students from second through 5th grade. The kids are already learning their instruments and enjoying them very much! The curriculum involves learning notes spanning the entitre chromatic musical alphabet, playing in mixed rhythms, as singing is also incorporated in our recorder curriculum. I thank you for helping to give our students this diverse musical opportunity.”

  • Back to School 2023-24!

    Thank you very much for your generous donation to our school music program. The new resources we received through this fund-raiser serve us every day. We use our soprano recorders in our general music classes from second through fourth grade, and the students are thoroughly enjoying this portion of our curriculum.

    Many of the peripherals we received also serve us well in our two ensembles that meet every day after school

    The cleaning and organizational materials help me maintain the classroom, and create an environment conducive to learning.”

  • Keyboard Upgrade!

    Funded Nov 29, 2022

    The additional keyboard instruments that we acquired through this Donors Choose project has made an enormous impact. I am now able to evenly divide our general music classes between students playing a stringed instruments (bass guitar, acoustic guitar, or ukulele), while fifteen other students can go work on a keyboard. My classroom is not big enough to house a full keyboard lab, so this scenario is a working solution. The students are thoroughly enjoying their new keyboards. They are used daily in both our general music classes and band rehearsal.”
