Funded Jun 23, 2016I am so excited to be able to give my students the opportunity to use art to learn literacy skills, math and writing. Currently, my students love to draw, but they do not know how to draw things. The drawing books I purchased give the students help drawing things they see in every day life, but it breaks it down into simple shapes, which include easy to follow directions.
My students will also be able to listen to music and dance while learning content. My students will learn colors, shapes, sight words, alphabet letters and sounds, and numbers in this way. My students will strengthen these concepts by using play-doh and play-doh tools, which will allow them to have fun while learning and developing fine motor skills.
My students will be able to take their newly-developed art skills to draw what they are thinking to express themselves through writing. My students are first taught that their pictures tell a story. They will then add words as they get more competent with literacy skills. I am very excited to see what my students will be able to produce with newfound skills and confidence because of these materials.”
With gratitude,
