• Marking Our Spot: Fun Bookmarks and More

  What a whirlwind of a year it's been! This year was kicked off my the best reading encouragement project that was made stronger through this project by offering fun bookmarks to guide students and families with the readings each day. I am so thankful for the sleeves and tassels that just excited students about the book they all received. The TeachersPayTeachers gift cards are certainly invaluable for a role that has no curriculum, yet needs intentionality and high-quality materials to offer students the highest level of library instruction, reading incentives, book club materials and more. The Logitech remote is a staple in allowing the best teacher interaction while still incorporating technology. Thanks again for the investment in education!”

• Stick Together! A Collaborative Project

  Funded Aug 2, 2023

  This project has been one that has brought smiles and fun to many faces in our school district. Students get excited after they check out a book, as they are quickly handed a sticker to add to our mosaic puzzle. Students are eager to guess what the puzzle is. We love the mystery! This project has encouraged students to use their critical thinking skills to guess what the small sticker boxes are creating. Lots of verbal skills are practiced through the conversations in engaging with this project.

  This project has also been fun as it reaches from first grade through fourth grade students. This project has brought another level of excitement as students checkout books and add their sticker to our community sticker mosaic project. We are so thankful for donors like you that support our students and give them the "extra" that makes such a difference in their educational experience.

  This simple project is extending into its second year as the sticker mosaics provided with this grant take a long time to complete with so many stickers in each. The 10 kits will likely be all used after this school year, but it has been very impactful! Thanks again!”

  This project has brought so many excited readers back into the library, grabbing for another graphic novel. The graphic novels provided by this project are student favorites. Students are eager to read these new books which does exactly what the title says, Graphic Novels Bring Excitement!" I am overwhelmingly thankful for the support provided by these donations that allowed us to bring approximately 80 new titles to the library shelves for these reluctant readers. Thank you again for understanding the importance that a school library holds for students' academic success!”

• Bring Out the Illustrators! Art in the Library

  Funded Nov 29, 2022

  Thank you for providing materials that allowed a project to be completed in the library. Students enjoy interacting with art, but do not get the experience very often. With this assignment, students were able to listen to a story about a subject, create a directed draw and then paint their picture. Another grade level worked on understanding our state and different facts which they then illustrated a postcard. These experiences offer a hands-on, memorable experience to better understand what role an illustrator plays. Thank you for providing these materials for these students!”

• Lots to Learn as a New Librarian

  Thank you so much for providing me with an opportunity to grow in this new role as a school librarian. There is so much that I continue to learn on the job, and having the resources to go to to help understand things like collection development, weeding, library skills and more is supporting the library goals. I am thankful for the books provided in this project that have provided a wealth of information. Political Advocacy for School Librarians: Leveraging Your Influence, Cataloging for School Librarians and The School Library Manager: Leading through Change are books that were required for my graduate coursework to provide professional development that allows me to better my knowledge and skills in this role. • Teach Me More

  This project has made such a difference in ensuring the lessons shared our engaging and targeting essential skills. By having the option to choose from hundreds of lessons and activities, I have been able to balance a brand new position in the library with lots to learn. I have been overwhelmed with managing library tasks with collection, ordering, and other unfamiliar and new learning experiences in this new role. The ability to have a wealth of lessons that target exactly what I need for students to gain the skills that are necessary for them is perfect. I am so thankful for these tools this year especially. This project has provided the students in the library with engaging lessons by providing intentionally created resources by teachers in roles just like me. Thank you!”
