  • Basic Classroom Needs to Make Our Learning Grow!

    Funded May 7, 2024

Thank you so very much for your very generous donations to our project - Basic Classroom needs to make our learning grow! There is nothing like having new supplies to start the school year out with!

When our boxes arrived, the students squealed with joy and could not wait to see what kind souls had helped our classroom recieve. We've had conversations about how it is hard to come up with the money for things that we want, but from the kindness of strangers, we were able to have our classroom needs met

Being able to create and build with all of the fun types of materials, like pipe cleaner, popscile sticks, and construction paper, just to name a few, help their creativity flow while expressing themselves in a different manner!

Thank you so making our get to know you activities such a huge success with new materials!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. W.

  • "Making" Your Way to a Camping Adventure

    Funded Feb 5, 2024

This project was one of the best projects I've ever done with my students. They loved every minute of the week long camping experience we were able to create for them. Students combined their love of STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) with coding to bring to life a camping adventure. Students were able to not only experience what it was like to be in a tent, but built their own protoype based on what they had learned about tents.

They also engineer designs, all while using a variety of materials that you helped supply. They created:

*A campfire where it crackles and lights up using a sensor

*Design and test a tent to withstand the elements and code the storm

*A campfire story including all the story elements and then retell the story enhanced with coded sound effects along with a coded simulation of fireflies

*A multisensory compass and a three dimensional map to code directions for their partner to follow

*A car where it is tested on a an off road obstacle course created by the students

This was a week like no other - the hands on experience I was able to create was ONLY possible through your generous donations. I will forever be grateful for your help and kindness.

    I cannot thank you enough!”

    Ms. W.

  • STEM Learning Stations to Help Us Build and Create

    Funded Aug 25, 2021

The squeals of delight that come from the students in the Discovery Lab is amazing when we found out our project was fully funded was such a great sound to hear! These centers are truly a hit where my students love using each and every one! From the day the boxes arrived at our school, every student who has stepped through the door of the lab, has had a chance to use each building center. From the boards that are double sided (meaning we can have 6 students working instead of just 3) to the various kits - the rollercoaster creator, the magnetic path, and the gears kit; the students have some choice to figure out what they want to create. The boards are also great because the students have a place for all of the materials to be stored when working on them! My favorite part of the project is watching their faces as they figure out how to use each center and the success they felt when it FINALLY worked! It was HUGE confidence builder, which many can truly use. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. W.

  • Show What You Know!

    Funded Dec 1, 2021

What an amazing email to wake up to - your project is fully funded! Thank you so very much for helping my students be able to share their design ideas and thinking on a large scale! We will be able to draw out our ideas so easily now! Thank you so very much for helping us to succeed!”

  • Magnify My World!

    Funded Aug 19, 2021

Oh the fun my students are having being detectives to see the bigger picture. The kindergarten students were the first class to use the magnifying glasses and the squeals of joy that came from them were so inspiring! These magnifying glasses are extremely durable which helps with little hands. They are also SCRATCH PROOF which is huge since every class in the school will use them! They loved using them in our schoolyard habitat (otherwise known as our garden). The magnifying glasses helped bring nature to life for our little ones!

This week our 5th and 6th graders will use the magnifying glasses to help them develop their science skill of detailed drawings. They are creating instruments in class and need to create a technical drawing. Using the magnifying class it will help them see a larger image to be able to draw how things fit together.

Thank you so very much for helping my students see the bigger picture when it comes to the world around them!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. W.

  • Help Our Vex Robots Roll Again!

    Funded Mar 7, 2021

WoW! What a difference the new batteries in having more power for our robots and to make sure they last longer than just one class period. Also, your help in purchasing the Bluetooth Radio Receivers for not only their Vex Robots, but for their controllers too has made it so that the VEX robots perform like none other before! The students have had our robots zooming across our competition floor in our Discovery Lab.

Since Covid began we had to shut down the Discovery Lab. With this school year we received special permission to re-open and starting off with the robots was just the thing to do to keep their attention! Our students haven't stopped raving about them and their new abilities due to more power and new radio receivers! Thank you for helping us keep our robots rolling into the future!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. W.

  • Building Our Future

    Funded Sep 23, 2021

I cannot thank you all enough. I’m so humbled by your donations. The students are going to be so very excited to start building their future cities! The smiles on their faces while using these new tools and connectors will make it all worth it!! You will all have buildings named after you ❤️ You are my project angels!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. W.

  • Drawing Our Way to Success - Part 2

    Funded Dec 1, 2020

My students and I can not thank you enough for our stylus'. You would have thought it was Christmas morning when the box arrived. They all crammed next to their screens - since we still have to social distance and I opened the box over our Google Meet (where we hold our class meetings for those at home) in front of the camera with the students. They couldn't believe strangers helped to pay for something they so desperately needed in class.

One of the hardest parts during this pandemic has been giving the students the ability to show what they know. Since the addition of our stylus' they have been able to draw out their thinking not only with me in the Discovery Lab, but it's helped in Math, Science and even writing/drawing about the parts of the story in Reading class! Our English Language Learners and our Special Education students have benefited as well since they feel like they can complete the task at hand with a labeled drawing!

Showing what you've learned in a lesson is pivotal to student success. Students need to summarize what they've learned in a way that prove they understand the content of the day. When students are in the STEM lab with me, they need to use a stylus to draw out their design and show how concepts work. The best part about having these stylus' is that they can be used in not just the lab with me, but teachers will be able to borrow them to use in their classrooms!

Thank you for helping my students be able to show everything they've learned!”

    With gratitude,

    Ms. W.
