Teen-Age Business Management Experts? You Bet!
Funded Aug 5, 2019This has been an amazing start to a new year ... all because I had the things I needed! For the first time, I am able to begin and have what I need, to not only extend a lesson, but to differentiate for need AND interest! Having these resources for my peeps has been a help to them (25 in one class and 16 in the upcoming class) ... and also our 2600 student population, which has pulled and used these resources for leadership and Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA). Because we are able to have this mini-library of Business Management resources, we are also able to acquire new resources with this new level of visibility. This is how something that started small grows into something great.
I am so very grateful.

Funded Nov 12, 2014Well .... (drum roll please)....
It's been a smashing success!
Not only are we reading, but we are READING!!!!!
So far, we are three magazines in since Scholastic Magazine also sent us the backlogs! This is so cool because we had nothing and now we have something! We are very grateful, and so thankful to have these in the classroom since reaching everyone at the same time can be difficult. The Scholastic site is amazing, and we are loving the current events as we jump from Macbeth's stage onto the world's stage. :-)
Thank you thank you thank you! :-)”

Save the Arts ... and Marry Them with Common Core :-)
Funded Apr 28, 2014I wish we could transport you here to our classroom! We are in Ancient Rome, right now, immersed in all things Roman (architecture, sculpture galore!)! We have been deep in AP Art History since the last week of August, and it would not have been possible without your generous support. We began our journey in the Prehistoric caves in France (30,000 years ago!) and went on to "visit" Mesopotamia, Ancient Egypt, Aegean Civilizations, Greece, the Etruscan remains and now we are in Rome, discussing and studying the ruins of Pompeii and imagining ourselves at the Colosseum. Soon we will be heading towards the Renaissance (January) by way of art from Late Antiquity, from Byzantine and from Medieval Europe ... and will enjoy student presentations on all things Non-Western (China, Islam, Oceania, Africa, the Americas, Korea, Japan etc). We are heading to the Dali Museum in Tampa next month, and because we have all of these new books and videos, we have a "sneak preview" of what we are going to enjoy! The students LOVE our "Cart of Love" (see picture of our donated supplies/resources) and we pull off reference materials every day. Without these materials, we would have had only our textbook and study guide ... thank you, thank you, thank you for bringing our AP Art History class to life!”

Dr. Brillant
