Smartboarding to Carnegie Hall
Funded Oct 10, 2014Thanks to you over 900 children a year will be able to travel to Carnegie Hall and other virtual sites to learn about music. The addition of the Hitachi Starboard to my classroom will open my students world to places they have only dreamed of and the sounds of great orchestras and bands I want them to hear.
DonorsChoose and Chevron will receive a special acknowledgment in the band's next concert program; we are so honored that you chose us for your donation. And the new STAR BOARD will be pictured as well!
Again, thank you so much for thinking of the future and our students here at my school.”

This classroom project was brought to life by an anonymous donor and one other donor.P Bones are the meat of the band
Funded Nov 2, 2012The P bones arrived just a few weeks ago and the students have begun to use them. Thank you so much for your support of fine arts and the band!
I have found that their light weight is allowing me to begin students on trombone in the 2nd grade. I will need to order more since the demand is so high. The purchase of these 3 bright colored light weight p bones have not only improved the sound of the band, but they also bring color to our appearance. The 3 students that were issued the p bones will play on them through the middle of 4th grade; where they will eventually play on a Yamaha brass trombone. If the students do not grow which many times happens in this neighborhood the P bone will survive them until they reach middle school and have grown more. Again, thank you for your support of these young gifted children.”

Magic Carpet Ride
Funded Jul 19, 2012Dear Starbucks,
The rug arrived at the beginning of the school year and has been a great addition to my classroom. The children love the bright colors and having their own little magic carpet square. Thank you so much for your support of public education and the children. This year in our music class we have traveled to the stars with "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" to the farm with "Bingo" and "Old MacDonald" to the country with "Deep in the Heart of Texas"! And our journey is just beginning! In December we will travel to the North Pole and surprise Santa!”
