Special Minds Needs Hands on Tools
Funded Feb 3, 2021I want to thank you for supporting my students during distant learning this school year. I can say that thanks to your generosity, my students were given the tools needed to learn at home. They really enjoyed using the letters and magnetic white boards while learning new spelling patterns. The math tool kit allowed them to solve and explain their thinking when completing their math assignments. The best part of your donations were the smiles on their faces and they conquered new skills with enthusiasm and most of all a very high level of engagement thanks to you.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!”

Loud and Clear
Funded Sep 21, 2020I am so thankful for the headsets and document reader you were able to provided for my students. My students are using their headphones during their independent work time, but some also choose to use them during our class zoom meeting. They were really excited about them and I can tell that the headphones allow them to focus on the lessons more than before. The document reader has been a complete success with all my students. They are able to follow along with what is being presented for them. I use it daily with my students but it has been more effective during our Writing time. After we discuss a concept students participate in a shared writing assignment, where we create a writing piece together. They work on their journals as I model on mine using the document reader. I have seen how hard my students are working on their journals and one can really see the improvement so far. The document reader has also allowed me to guide them through art activities every Friday. Students love creating crafts and they are able to do so without any anxiety with the use of the document readers that allows them to follow my lead. Once again I am so grateful for your generosity and for helping my students adapt to distant learning.”

I have been able to develop Math Centers during our Math period during the day, where students are learning how to use the resources, work collaboratively, practice math skills all in a fun engaging manner. Funded Nov 22, 2019The materials you have provided for my students have brought so much excitement and joy to my them. They were ecstatic and eager to begin to use the activities when we received the box. So far, the various materials such as the Playfoam Shapes and the Ruff's House Teaching Tactile Sets have provided my students with hands on materials to learn how to share and work together while also learning foundational skills. The Gears Building Set and Froggy Feeding Fun is helping my students develop their fine motor skills while also learning to cooperate with one another.
I really want to thank you for providing me with social skills activities for my class. We have started a Conversation Circle, where we practice social skills using the Conversation Photo Cards and Activity Set. I am learning so much about my students as they are slowly developing their language skills. I have read and shared the book, I See Things Differently, with my colleagues as well. This book has helped some of the other students understand Autism.”

Funded Mar 28, 2012I am very grateful for your generosity. The Leapfrog Tag pens along with the various story books have my students enthusiastic about reading. They enjoy picking up a Tag book and reading along with the audio. Some of them are beginning to use the pen to identify the sight words we are learning in class. The Alphabet board is helping my young students identify letters while they are taking a break from a challenging task.
I am so proud that my students are choosing to read whenever they have free-time and I owe it all to your support for education.

Funded Dec 21, 2011I am very grateful to everyone who helped fund this literacy project. The literacy centers that I have been able to create with the material provided to my class are helping my students learn, stay focus, and have fun while doing so. My students love the print awareness center, where they get to match letters and sounds. They especially enjoy reading the flashcards and creating a shopping list with the words presented to them.
The rhyming mystery game is another favorite center. They are beginning to recognize rhyming words with the help of this game. Many of them have a short attention span, but when working on this particular center, they are sitting and completing the task with ease and success.
Thanks again for being generous and helping this project come alive for us. ”

Funded Dec 30, 2011I don't have words to express how thankful I am for your generosity. The math counting games you have provided my students have them eager to begin math time every day. It's only been a couple of weeks that my students have been benefiting from these materials but in this short amount of time they are counting up to twenty on their own using the materials you helped provide.
The number of the day chart is helping reach the different types of learning modalities of my students. It has colorful visuals which they enjoy and tactile number cards that allows them to see and feel the numbers as well. The best part of it all is that they are having fun learning.
Once again, I want to thank you so much for generosity and taking the time to make a difference in my students' education.
