Healing Trauma at School with EMDR
Funded Aug 20, 2019I can't begin to express how grateful I am for your donations. Your generosity allowed me to receive training in one of the most research based therapeutic techniques for trauma. As you know, we are in the middle of a pandemic in which students are directly impacted and will need so much more support than they have in the past.
This training could not have come at a better time! In fact, EMDR training has never been allowed to be conducted online until this pandemic. My first weekend training was in person, and my second was online so I could learn how to be effective using both modalities for students.
Students will be coming back to school in just under a month. Many will be online and others will be on campus. I am positive I will be using my EMDR skills for both student situations. I feel more prepared and equipped in my ability to help these students especially now as we are all in unprecedented waters.
When I signed up for this training, I had no idea how important it would actually be. I am truly grateful for the opportunity your donations provided and I know my students will benefit significantly from my newly acquired skills.”

Funded Sep 28, 2018Thank you for your very generous donations. With your donation I was able to attend a two day training on therapeutic listening. During the training I had many students names in mind that I want to being this process with as soon as possible. The research behind therapeutic listening is sound and I encourage you to learn more about it if so intrigued.
Students who have experienced trauma, have been diagnosed with ADD”

Healthy Mind, Body, and Soul
Funded Mar 23, 2017Our 5th graders were so excited when they got to stay afterschool for the first time to work in the garden! They got right to work planting, watering, and setting up! We will meet twice a month after school and every day they ask me if this is the day we meet!
I can't tell you how happy this project has made them. They are working hard as a team and individually they each have a plan for what they are growing. It truly is amazing to watch them take ownership in such a big project.
We can't wait to eat what we planted this fall. I can only imagine the new foods our kiddos will be trying just because they planted it themselves. This really is my favorite project that donors like you have come together to support and make happen!”

Funded Oct 13, 2016We want to thank you so much for your generous donation! As soon as my students saw the chairs they were excited! As you can see from the pictures my students use the chairs when on the computer, when working out their feelings with the sand tray, or when visiting with me while playing with the Kinetic sand.
I have a student who very rarely opened up to me willingly. Now he will sit and play with the kinetic sand and talk nonstop. He would probably talk for hours if I let him! Something about playing in the kinetic sand is just relaxing. In fact, I have teachers that come to my room for different meetings and will play with the sand the whole time.
If you have not had the pleasure to experience kinetic sand I encourage you to do so. You will find yourself very relaxed and ready to take in whatever the world has to offer you.
Students are growing in their emotional intelligence daily because of the materials you have provided. Thank you for helping me support these students to the best of my ability!”

Mrs. Frasier
Calm Tigers
Funded Mar 9, 2016Dear Donors,
I can not express how grateful I am for your generous donations. While our district is moving more towards technology it is still difficult to find the funds to cover new computers and all the necessary pieces for a new program to run. My students love the new computer and calming rug! I know they would appreciate the graphics card as well if they could understand how the program would not work without it.
My students are excited to use the breathing program on their assigned days and talk to me about it all the time! I already have one student who is breathing at 6.6 breaths per minute. The goal is 6 breaths per minute to calm them selves down and begin the day on a positive note. Other students are breathing at about 7.5 breaths per minute and get closer to the goal each week.
This project would not have been possible without your donations that paid for the new computer. I wish I could express how excited I am about my dream coming to light. Please know I appreciate each of you and am using your donation to provide a sense of calm with students who live stressful lives at home and at school.”

Emotional Intelligence = School Success!
Funded Mar 9, 2016Even though its only the second week of school I already have students benefiting from the toys donated. Students are able to tell their stories through sand tray therapy which is especially helpful for the young ones who do not have the words yet to describe what's going on. The books are beyond amazing and I have already used the feelings book the first week of school!
Students are very excited to come to my room and play with the toys and to read the books. children don't realize that play can mean so much more than what they are actually doing! I am learning so much about our students which has been made possible by the generous donations.
My next steps are to expand my sand tray area so students have more options when creating their "perfect world" in the sand. I am very excited to watch this area of my work with students grow!”

Guided Math Work Stations
Funded Oct 28, 2014Thank you so much for the wonderful mat materials! My student's went to stations every day and used the wonderful items needed to enhance their learning.
As you can see from the happy faces in the pictures the students were extremely excited when I opened all the boxes! They couldn't wait to open the games and learn how to play! My tutoring students would learn each new station after school, then teach it to the whole class.
All of my students benefited from the learning materials, and I know the additions to my classroom helped prepare them for 4th grade!”

Guided Math
Funded Oct 3, 2013Thank you so much for the supplies donated to my classroom! We are so excited to come back from Christmas break and really start digging into them!
My students were so excited to get brand new math journals for the second semester! They already numbered all of the pages, and got their table of contents started!
All they could say was, "Wow" and "awesome" when they saw the clipboards and probability game!
They were getting tired of bringing textbooks to write on when meeting me on the carpet, so these clip boards will get tons of use!
I have gone to many math trainings recently, so I have tons of great things planned for their interactive notebooks, and I am sure they will help boost scores in the future.
Thank you again! Your supplies have really helped get my classroom moving smoothly!”

Mrs. Frasier
The Gift of Reading
Funded Dec 20, 2012I can't express how grateful I am for all the great books! My students were so excited when they got to open their gifts! They immediately started reading and talking about the books.
Each of my students loved there book so much they have all started reading them for a second time. Everyone has taken an AR test on their individual book. The boys have even shared their books with the girls. So much reading is happening in this room it is unbelievable! The book talk is also such a nice thing to hear.
All of my students keep asking when they will get another new book. Their new found love of reading is music to my ears! Thank you so much for helping get my students excited about reading and even more excited to talk about their reading!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Frasier
Fun Math: Checking For Understanding
Funded Sep 26, 2012This is just a small token of my appreciation for your support in my classroom. The dry erase markers you helped purchase along with the storage and erasers have made a huge impact in my classroom! We use the markers daily, and I have seen huge growth in student participation and even the level of excitement for learning!
Our school has recently been forced to cut budgets, and without your support we would not be able to have the tools to provide such active engagement in the math classroom.
Thank you again for your support for education and specifically early education! People like you help teachers instill that much desired love for learning with all of our students!”
With gratitude,
Mrs. Frasier
