  • Creating Super Citizens

    Thank you so much for your support of this project! It has had a huge impact on ALL of our students. They are working hard to demonstrate excellent behavior because of the great new items on the cart. Five students from each class are picked each Friday. They get so excited you would think they won the lottery! They are super excited to hear their name and their friends name on the announcements. It is so fun to watch them. They really work hard so they can make a return trip. I am so happy we are reinforcing students making good choices.

  • Farm to School Table

    Funded Oct 19, 2024

    This is the most delicious project ever! My students were very excited to get some seeds and supplies to put into the Aerogardens. We planted basil. This ended up with us making pesto! The students were in charge of this every step of the way!

    They planted the seeds and were in charge of adding the nutrients. They also had to watch the water levels. Once the plants were mature, each student got to pick a basil leaf to harvest. Our families sent in pita chips and everything necessary to make pesto. It was a great learning experience to have them measure out the ingredients. Many of them had never seen a food processor before. I was surprised how many of the students liked the pesto. Over half of them asked for more!

    I loved showing my students they could grow their own food! Our next harvest will be tomatoes and jalapenos so we can make salsa. Thank you so much for making this happen for them.”

  • Growing a Garden for Earth Day and Everyday!

    Thank you so much for supporting me and my students. My students love having the gardens in our classroom. I am very excited to have the reservoir to keep the garden alive over breaks! My students were heartbroken to see the dead plants when we came back over Christmas break.

    We just planted our first Aerogarden of the year. We planted lavender seeds. They loved putting the seeds into the sponges and into the holders. Each student was able to do a portion to start up the garden. They can't wait to see the sprouts!

  • Make Our Brains Pop With Brainpop Jr.

    Thank you so much for taking the time to read and support our project. It has been really great having the materials from this project available to my students. We have already used it multiple times in class.

    We have been reviewing many different concepts they learned in first grade and this has been super helpful. We watched a video on nouns and the students were totally engaged while watching it! It was the same scenario when we reviewed how to count on for addition. The videos are the perfect length and are super fun for the students to watch.

    Thank you for helping to support this project. Heggerty is a fantastic program that helps build my student's phonemic awareness. This is the stepping stone to being a strong reader and writer. I use the video lessons every day. I am able to teach along side the video and watch my students to make sure they are understanding and participating. I have seen great success and improvement with using this program daily. I am very hopeful that my group this year with continue with that trend.

  • Little Makers Need Supplies for Maker Space

    Creating a Maker Space in my classroom has had a huge impact. Many of my students are under performing in academics but excel in creativity. Having this space has allowed them to feel a sense of success and pride.

    It is a favorite station for everyone. I enjoy it because I get to watch their minds at work and see their excitement. They create everything! Some of the interesting things I've seen have been: tree houses, creatures, traps and secret storage boxes.
