TPS Teachers know their students’ unique needs better than anyone. About Trenton Public Schools

Trenton Public Schools is one of the larger districts in the state of NJ; it serves over 12,000 students in Kindergarten through Grade 12 in 21 buildings. All students receive free or reduced-priced meals. Our diverse community of learners is comprised of 40% African-American students, 56% Hispanic students, and 3% are students who identify as Multi-Racial. Twelve (12) percent of our students have Individualized Educational Plans (IEP’s) and 30% are English Learners.

The district’s mission is to ensure that students graduate ready for their choice of college or career. Currently, district staff at all levels, Board members, community stakeholders, and outside partners are collaborating to develop the district’s strategic plan to help focus our work for the next 5 years.
