Time for Kids is always such a great non fiction resource for our classroom. We are able to truly integrate these magazines and current events into our daily curriculum. The kids enjoy using these in centers and taking them home to read with their families afterwards. This resources allows for great conversations and discussions. We have been able to connect these articles to other books and materials we find to build deeper connections and relationships. Again, we appreciate your generosity and support.”
I am so very thankful for your donations. Your kindness gave my students a welcoming place to be on their own. The Privacy Cube is an awesome resource that the children use for many reasons throughout the day. It's a safe place to calm down, relax, rest, reset, and to have some peace and quiet. It is a place to practice mindfulness and is sometimes just a place to gain a different perspective. Students may take self time as they see fit and easily transition back into the group setting. Thanks again for the generosity.”
With gratitude,
Ms. Modlin

You have no idea how yoga and mindfulness can impact young minds and bodies. I have had parents call to tell me how excited their child was after doing yoga. I even had one mother tell me her child insisted they go out and buy her own mat and blocks so that she can practice at home as well. Showing young people a way to calm their minds and move their bodies affects more than their physical state, it affects every aspect of their lives. They are learning to trust their breath, to love their bodies, to slow down and think before reacting to stressors. What you have contributed to is more than a physical practice, it is an ongoing state of mind that will having a lasting impression on these inspiring young people. Namaste!”
I can’t express how much this means to me and for my students. Having clean air is so essential for sustained focus and happy bodies. This unit can run effectively for years to come and will continue to support students learning for many classes. As a teacher it is so easy to spend time focused on taking care of students and with this project I am able to do that as well as have a resource to benefit my health!”

Our classroom is really starting to take shape. The students are loving their new tables and chairs and the space is much more comfortable and accommodating for my large classes. Kids have more room to spread out and move around the classroom. I have students working with partners and I've created an arrangement that is easy for them to collaborate together. I have better access to all of my students now and classroom engagement/management is much easier. We recently completed the Fall standardized test and moving the tables into a manageable arrangement allowed the students to focus in a serene atmosphere.
The students were so excited when the tables arrived. Many helped to move out the old furniture and set up the new classroom. Everyone wants to sit at one of the new tables. Many students have exclaimed that it's much better sitting at a table that doesn't have trash in it and does not have gum stuck to the bottom of it. Many kids say it doesn't even feel like a middle school classroom, instead they say they feel like they are in an adult conference room.
We currently have 15 new tables. 6 of my students are still sitting at older tables. In the near future we will be looking to add 3 more new tables so that all of my students can enjoy and appreciate our new learning space.
Thanks to everyone who has chipped in to make this happen. Me and my students truly appreciate all of your support and we will be working hard this year to show all of you how much we appreciate the new classroom that you have helped us to create.”
I am writing this letter to thank you for the generous donation to my class' education. The money you donated was used to purchase new seating for my students. We were able to buy all brand new stools for every student!
The stools are counter height and allow the students to easily sit or stand at their desks without disrupting their peers. The students have been enjoying their new seats and are grateful that their legs are no longer being pinched by their old chairs. Last year I purchased small stools from IKEA, however they just could not withstand the daily use of my students. With your help they now have safe and sturdy seating!
My students have been so appreciative and seem to be really enjoying the "grown-up" feeling of their new tall stools. Fifth grade is a huge transitional year for students as they go from being little kids to preparing for middle school. I have seen a noticeable change in how the students behave since receiving the new seating and it has made a positive impact on their lives at school.
Thank you again for your generous donation. We appreciate it so much!”
We are so excited about our new flexible seating in class. We are using the new exercise balls and animal yoga balls during our daily instruction. This seating helps to keeps the students engaged during their work by allowing them to move and wiggle.
The students were so excited when they saw the animal yoga balls and asked when we could start using them. They gasped and said how cool! They were dying to use them and we all took a turn trying them out.
Students will continue to get more use out of the flexible seating during groups and while playing games in class. We also use yoga balls with feet, rocking chairs, wobble stools, bar stools and office chairs to promote movement and focus in class. Often people wonder if flexible seating works and it is so worth it! Our students are focused and excited about learning because flexible seating makes it fun. Learning should always be fun!”
My class loved getting to open and see their new cots. They have enjoyed a more comfortable rest time. They are very grateful to everyone who donated. When asked what they liked best about them, said they were comfortable, bouncy, soft, and warmer than the floor. They now have their own space. They look forward to rest time every day. Now we have a positive reaction to rest time. The students are more comfortable and often fall asleep quickly. Thank y'all again for your generous act of kindness to the students of Moran ISD.”
My students were so thankful for your show of respect towards our classroom. They couldn't believe that such a random act of kindness was for them.
It's amazing how little movement students have throughout the day. When I introduced these tools for us to use they were ecstatic about having these ways of movement.
We go through a bit of a lull after lunch and I incorporate movement, especially in the afternoon when I see this. There is laughter, talking, team building and a reset for the remainder of our day. It is great to see kids who are normally involved in computer games interacting with their peers and playing well together to build that friendship.
Thank you for your generosity. WE LOVE ALL OF IT!”
My students were so excited to receive the Acer Chromebooks for the writing classroom. Writers were eager to use the laptops in class. During our most recent unit of study, Journalism, students were tasked with researching a current event topic, taking notes, writing a rough draft, and organizing their work into sections with various text features. Writers used the computers to find research and photos, as well as, use the online dictionary and thesaurus to find sophisticated language in order to raise the level of their writing.
I am so pleased to see students engaged and inspired to write. We cannot wait to continue using the laptops that you helped us get! Thank you for your support!”
With gratitude,
Ms. Serven
