In honor of our founder's home area, we would like to encourage donors to please support Gulf Coast classroom projects. The region is still recovering from numerous hurricanes and budget cutbacks due to the economic recession; but is now reeling from the catastrophic damage from the BP oil spill. Your help is urgently needed.

Thank you so much for your donations in funding our "Female Athletes in Need of Softballs" project. This project was funded right in time for softball season and made a major difference in the effectiveness of our practices and allowed all of our kids to get the reps needed in order to improve their game.
Our girls were so excited when the new softballs came in! They couldn't wait to get them out and use them! I hope you know that the difference you are making when you choose to donate on this website. Thank you for investing in our future and allowing our girls a great experience.”

Thank you so much for donating towards our class project. These letter sound tubs are amazing for helping teach kindergarten students the sounds of the letters. I empty the two letters of the week tubs in our sensory bin and the students get to explore and sort the items by their initial letter sound. The students love this station and they are really engaged as they work.
The students were so excited when we received our delivery. They helped me open and sort all of the little items. They were so happy to get to play with and help set up this literacy station. It is one of their favorite stations to work at each week.
As the year progresses, and we have learned all of our letters and sounds, we will use these items to foster our writing. I will make labels for all of the items and the students will be able to grab an item and write about it. I can't wait to watch them blossom in reading and writing this year.”
Thank you so much for donating to our project. The supplies have already been put into use and the students are extremely grateful! The reeds have been used by our 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade woodwind students on almost a weekly basis since they have arrived, and the valve oil has kept our brass instruments in great playing condition. Our students work so hard, so it is wonderful to be able to provide these supplies for them at no extra cost and allow them to fully participate in band class without the worry of not having crucial materials. We appreciate your contribution and thank your continued support of fine arts!”
The music whiteboards and markers have made huge a difference from the first day they arrived! We have been able to use them to reinforce music literacy by practicing basic note reading in all our classes from the 6th grade beginners to advanced 9th grade classes. Both our band and choir students enjoy using the music whiteboards as a fun way to break up rehearsal and strengthen recognition of where notes fall on the music staff. These materials provide a valuable resource for all of our students enrolled in music classes and we are so very appreciative of your contribution and supporting the fine arts!!!”

I wanted to extend a heartful thank you for helping me provide a more comfortable and appropriate classroom for my students. By contributing to this project, my students were able to sit comfortably in the music room. The chair I chose was a stool because it is small enough for our classroom, stacks easily for storage, and provide flexible seating for students when needed.
My students were excited to see the new chairs! They were happy to not have to carry chairs from the cafeteria, as well. Not only did this help us feel more comfortable in the classroom, but it also opened up a lot of time for us to really get to rehearsing and learning more music.
I currently do not have any projects I am working on right now as we are still settling down from the pandemic. I am also away from the classroom right now as I am pursuing my master's degree. I will be sure to keep everyone updated as they progress!”

The 2021-2022 school year has been one for the books! Getting the notifications that my wish list had been fully funded made me cry with excitement and happiness for my students. I would never the able to afford these goodies. Usually, I make a box mix of cupcakes for one class at a time. With Donors Choose I was able to reward all classes!
When the incentives arrived, the students were so excited! I was also so excited that we jumped in and students that had already earned "Dillon Dollars" were able to cash in! I unfortunately was so happy that I did not get the first pictures.
The students have been very motivated to work hard and strive for their personal and educational goals. Seeing students get excited makes my job easy and helps motivate me too! I cannot tell you how much growth I have seen in the last few months. Students who never tried hard before have been working harder than ever for a Rubik's cube or their favorite candy! This has made my life so much easier in the classroom. This letter is a thank you, but it is truly hard to put into words how much we appreciate your help!”

My students are using this item daily. They are practicing taking turns, while improving their gross motor skills. Each day during recess, students are excited to have this item as an addition to our outdoor activities. When they first saw our package, they were excited! They could not wait to open it and see what was inside. After opening the package, they enjoyed helping me put it together using tools and following instructions. As we continue to enhance our outdoor experiences, we will be working on adding items to our garden. In the future keep a look out for projects that will help our "growing" experiences. The Schoolhouse strummers have their ukuleles for club! Thank you for providing them with the means to participate in this musical club and creative outlet.
When I was unboxing the ukuleles, I could hear "oooh"s and "ahh"s all around. So many hands went up to ask questions about these new instruments. Many students wanted to hold the ukuleles fresh out of the boxes! I was able to show them how to use the tuners to tune them before playing. I can not wait to see how far they will come, and it is all in thanks to you.”

Our girls work hard in the classroom, on the field, on the court, and even in the weight room. Our girls weight room is so underdeveloped and these 15lb dumbbells have helped us create a much more sufficient set of weights that has led to much more efficient lifts as now 20 different people aren't needing to use the same set of weights. I love the weight room for our girls because I really believe that it leads to more self confidence and self worth for our kids as well as the positive effects it has on their performance.
