My students have been using Legos every school year in June thanks to your donation. It is a great way of introducing elementary students to three dimensional thinking and design.
Students have built models of their houses, a representation of Chelsea City Hall for a national Lego exposition, and completed a family based project on world flags. Their creations have been exhibited in the Hynes Convention Center in Boston, MA, Chelsea City Hall, the annual District-wide Chelsea Public Schools Art Exhibit and within our school building.
Thank you for helping to create a wonderful opportunity for my students.”

Thank you all very much for contributing to my project, "Fit Body = Fit Mind." Your generosity has provided my students with tools to improve there large motor skills which in turn helps them to self regulate and really focus on their academic day. It was great to see the different reactions when the equipment arrived. Some students were curious, noticing the new equipment immediately, while others gravitated towards it, ready to put it to use.
We are extremely grateful for all those who contributed and are excited to share that moving forward we will be putting a lot of focus on developing vocational skills. Many of my students have the ability and desire to work and have demonstrated great skills that could lead to employment. Our upcoming projects will focus on offering students a simulated environment that mirrors tasks and equipment that they would use in a real work setting. Once again thank you so much.”
Thank you so much for your generosity and donations towards our mask project. The students loved designing their masks using paint, paint pens, glitter, flowers, etc. It has by far been one of their favorite projects and they were beyond thrilled when I introduced the project to them. Their masterpieces were displayed in the hallway in the display cases for everyone to see and looked so wonderful. Thank you so much for supporting our art program at NPS. We are incredibly lucky to have your support. Enjoy the pictures of their art!”

I am so grateful to the donors that helped make this project possible. My students were so excited to have access to these materials.
My student have enjoyed reading in the classroom and at home the many book titles acquired through this project. Through discussions with my students I have learned that they enjoyed taking the books home and talking about them to their families. I encouraged my students to give "Book Talks" about these books to their families to ignite a love of reading for everyone at home.
Along with the books, my students were also able to play the reading comprehension games at school and at home. My students expressed a feeling of having more confidence in their reading after playing many of these games.
I appreciate the help of all of the amazing donors that helped to make my classroom a more exciting place.”

When the materials first arrived, the boxes were very exciting! The kids acted like it was Christmas! I let them guess what things were inside the boxes and how we'd use them. This made the process even more fun and connected to the kids.
We had our 2nd annual Day of the Dead event last night and it was a huge success! We had 306 attend last year and last night we had 530! The items purchased for this event, thanks to your generous contribution, were much appreciated. Over the last couple of weeks, our 2nd grade students learned how to make pinatas with the books and then made them using the materials! The pinatas were prominently displayed at the front of our stage. They made 4 enormous pinatas which they will break in class after they have earned the opportunity.
Masks were also a huge part of our event. All of our K-1 dual language kids made masks in class and wore them for their song at the event. They got to take them home last night or today, if they didn't make it to the fiesta last night. Kids who aren't in our program but attend our school or are siblings were able to make masks at the event. They were very proud of their craftsmanship!
Thank you again for your donation. We are soliciting feedback from our parent groups, staff and already have great positive feedback at the event, so we are moving ahead to plan the 3rd annual event next year with some new activities as well!”

We had our first visit from Mrs. Teresa. As usual, she did not disappoint us. Her program was filled with songs, stories, lots of movement and even a yummy snack!
Mrs. Teresa will come back once a month for the rest of the school year. Each month will have a different theme. The theme for September was The Music in Me. Other themes throughout the year will include: Silly Symphony, Angel Choir, Shake, Rattle and Roll, Jump and Jive, Rhythm Sticks Rock, Rocking Aerobics, and Kaleidoscope. As you can tell, we are in for some good times!
Thank you again for bringing this wonderful program to the kindergarten students at our school. We appreciate your kindness more than we can say.”

Masks and food are things that we make every year in stagecraft. The kids enjoy both. Receiving these materials gives me the opportunity to introduce the kids to some new materials. These are the materials that the kids see on the TV reality show/ contest called Face Off so when they get to use materials like professionals they are more invested while working and we're so proud of their finished products. The food they made this year was hamburgers made of soft foam that we coated. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to introduce them to materials that professionals use and giving them an introduction to prop making techniques.”

I can not express how happy you have made my students. Many of these young people come to school without supplies due to a lack of money to get them.
Your generosity has provided them with much needed pencil boxes, erasers, and Crayola crayons. It was so incredible to see the smiles on their faces as they each got their new supplies.
My students asked if they could color right away and I hated to disappoint them. So, we were able to take a few moments to draw and to color.
I really appreciate your support. Bless you!”

Thank you so much for providing these mindfulness materials for my students. Teaching mindfulness skills to my students is at the heart of my school counseling curriculum, and these resources are invaluable to my efforts in this area.
The books have provided me with a deeper understanding of mindfulness, which in turn makes me better able to pass on mindfulness practices to my students. The mindfulness game cards provide hands-on resources to practice and reflect upon mindfulness with my students. The brain model has provided a helpful way to teach students about the emotional and problem-solving regions of their brains, as well as how to keep the "lines of communication" open between those areas and to promote those regions working together.
I believe it is critical our youth learn mindfulness skills, which quite simply allow individuals to live more fully in the present, to bring greater focus to the present moment, and to better regulate their emotions. Developing these abilities is more important than ever in a world that is increasingly fast-paced and in which individuals are increasingly reactive emotionally. Rather than reacting without thoughtful reflection, I want my students to be able to slow down and think so that they can proactively make the healthiest choices for themselves and those whose lives they touch. Mindfulness is at the heart of this, and your kind and generous donations to this project have left me more able to fulfill my mission in this regard. Thank you again for your support of my students and my school counseling program.”
Thank you so much for your generous donation. Having a Chromebook has transformed our social studies lessons. Sometimes lessons in social studies are hard for students to find engaging. The topics seem "boring" and difficult to relate to for many students. The Chromebook has changed all of that. Now, students can actually seem what the Great Plains looked like in 1935 before the huge dust storm. They can see where immigrants came from before entering Ellis Island and view the Statue of Liberty. These virtual experiences make the lessons so much more engaging and meaningful for students. They are now excited for social studies and eager to find out where they will be "traveling" next. Thank you for providing such a valuable resources for our classroom!”
