Welcome to my DonorsChoose.org Giving Page. Please choose a project to support, with a donation of any size! My page supports teachers that provide special education services.
Catching the interest of my kids is not easy. When you think of toys that light up or others that produce sounds when a button is pushed, books offer little cause and effect by turning pages. The popular characters in our new books have helped create interest and given some of my students a reason to turn the page, especially when I have pulled out the actual action figure to go with the story.
Another cool moment came out of this bundle of books. It was a feel good feeling to send some bilingual books home during remote learning. The smile on the mama's face when I pointed out I had bilingual books was priceless! When kids cannot read, it is still important for them to have stories read to them regardless of the language.
Thank you for your generosity in bringing this project to life!”
Thank you so much for your support! Words cannot describe how thankful I am for the pressure vests we received! The positive impact these pressure vests have had on my students was immediate!
These amazing compression vests have had a calming, grounding effect on my students with Autism! This has allowed my students to focus on their classwork and continue learning without feeling overwhelmed!
Compression vests help students with Autism to process sensory information, feel calm, and improve their focus, attention, and learning. These compression vests have had a wonderful effect on my students, and it is definitely helping them to remain calm and feel safe, which has immensely improved their social/emotional health!
Thanks to you, this was all made possible! You have helped my students so much! Thank you from the bottom of my heart! You are AMAZING!❤️”

I dropped off the gardens to my students last Sunday and told the parents we would plant them on Thursday. One of my students was so excited about growing his garden, that we had to indicate the planting day in this daily calendar book and count down the days left until planting. On Thursday, he logged into our morning group meeting with all the materials ready and proudly announced that he knew today was the day and even did his calendar ahead of time so he could plant. Seeing his excitement and then projecting it out, encouraging and supporting his peers made this garden become social before it was even fully unboxed.
My students planted watermelon, cucumbers, squash, carrots, radishes, and green beans in their seedling trays. They were able to placed their gardens in their yards, on terraces or windowsill ledges and now the class can observe how the plants grow in different locations. The radishes have already started to sprout visible leaves. Over the next two weeks we will be sharing information during group lessons together, so they learn how to record data. When we transfer their seedlings into little pots, they will begin to record daily data at home using adapted journals. Patience will be learned while waiting for all the plants to grow but in the interim, they will practice making recipes with the pretend play food so they can eventually make dishes with the vegetables they harvest.
Thank you again for your support and allowing my fully remote students to enjoy the outdoors while learning from home. Not only will their social, life and academic skills be fostered, they may even end up with a green thumb and true knack for gardening.”

Thank you so much for all of your kind and generous donations and continued support of our classroom. I cannot wait to implement the OSMO system with my students as they return to the classroom.
These materials will help support math and reading skills as well as problem solving, communication and coding. These individualized programs are both engaging as they are game based but also allow for individualized intervention, helping students in the areas they need it the most.
Thank you for providing a system that will allow us to further utilize our iPads and their impact in the classroom.”

Thank you so much for your generous donations that helped my pre-k students receive digital materials, puzzle racks, lacing toys, pattern blocks, insect viewers and rubbing plates, and a bubble fidget toy. I have had an interesting year with students who have limited interest in exploring different materials. With that being said, when I showed the lacing toys to my students, they couldn't wait to start practicing their lacing skills. Thank you so much for making a huge impact in the educational growth and happiness of my students! I could not be the teacher I am without the very caring and supportive people like you who show you care about our future leaders. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!”

Thank you so very much for bringing this project to completion. Words can not describe how grateful my students and I are when we received the email that we would be getting a duster and a vacuum cleaner to keep our room clean. It will provide some job training for a number of our students, but more importantly, it will help to give a feeling of responsibility to our students in taking care of our classroom. We try to make our students understand that everybody in the school is equally important, from the principal to the cleaning staff. This project helps to make this happen. Thank you so much for making a difference.”
