Questions about Classroom Essentials

  • What if I want a specific brand? In order to promise fast turnaround times, we work with vendors to come up with a list of reliable brands that normally come in and out-of-stock due to global supply chain shifts. This way you'll never wait on an item to come back in-stock. So while that specific brand of pencils you prefer may not be available, we'll get you a set that will sharpen and erase just as well as your favorite brand. We want teachers to get the best quality possible! If you do need something specific for your class, we offer a much larger selection of items from over 30+ vendors when you create a project.   • Who are your donors? DonorsChoose has a thriving community of donors we've built over the last 22 years who are parents, educators, and individuals who are passionate about making an impact on education.
  • What happens if I don't raise enough money? You don't need to hit your total funding goal to receive supplies! As soon as you've raised enough to order one or more of your items, we'll notify you and you can order what you need most. Any leftover funds after purchasing will be applied to your DonorsChoose account as credits to apply to another request.
  • I need other school supplies! If you need more specific items or items not in our limited basics catalog, you can make a project which will give you access to our full catalog of items with no fundraising limit. Traditional DonorsChoose classroom projects are best for larger ideas you have for the class that need more funding, specific items, and no urgency. Learn more about creating a project.
