Shepherd School District #37 is comprised of two separate school districts; a PreK-8th grade Elementary district, and a 9-12th grade High School district. There are a total of about 800 students attending school in grades PreK-12. The District employs 62 certified teachers, 49 classified staff, 3 principals, and the Superintendent.

Shepherd Public School is the heart of the community. The community of Shepherd revolves around the school. It is a small community located just outside one of Montana’s largest cities, Billings. Most activities in the community happen within and around the school as the focal point.
