My students created contemporary images using traditional carving and printmaking methods. Students had to think critically and use problem solving skills to carry out this project. Carvings had to be readable, some simplified and others over detailed. Students experimented with print making and pattern through this project based lesson. \r\nAir dry clay empowered so many of my students. Attendance was very high for this project. Many students who had struggled in 2d projects were now telling stories with their 3 d clay art pieces. Many students created objects they could use , while others experimented with form and shape and others told stories with their art. \r\nAir dry clay also brought a lot of joy and bonding into our class. Attendance has improved. Students help each other and talk to each other in class . Students are more confident, more empowered ! \r\nWith much thanks to Ripple , with out this air dry clay, my students would not have had any kind of ceramic experience. We do not have proper ceramic appliances such as kilns. My students are only able to use air dry clay. Air dry clay comes in small packages that are costly. My school budget could only allow a few classes to experiment with clay. This grant allowed ALL of my students to use clay. For some students , clay is their only voice. All students were able to shine using the supplies provided. Thank you for the wings.","fullyFundedDate":1758843620821,"projectUrl":"project/empower-kids/9422600/","projectTitle":"Empower Kids","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Flores","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-2_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9891183"},{"teacherId":10059630,"projectId":9423102,"letterContent":"Our students were beyond excited when the new supplies arrived. The room lit up with energy as we unpacked the speaker, violin bows, strings, and guitar accessories. For many of our students, these were the first high-quality materials they had ever used.\r\nSince then, our Mariachi groups have been practicing daily with a clearer, stronger sound. The new speaker has allowed us to rehearse with proper balance, helping students hear each section. Violins, trumpets, guitars, and vocals Just like they would on stage. Our violins now stay in tune longer, and broken strings are no longer a setback.\r\nOne special moment was seeing our beginners perform confidently for the first time using the new equipment. They were proud of how professional they sounded. It gave them a real sense of belonging in the program.\r\nNext, our students are preparing for several performances across the city, including our Winter Concert and district showcases. The materials provided are being used every single day to help them grow as musicians and as young leaders in our community. Your generosity continues to make a direct impact on their success and confidence.","fullyFundedDate":1752586601725,"projectUrl":"project/mariachi-students/9423102/","projectTitle":"Mariachi Students","teacherDisplayName":"Mr. Zamarripa","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10059630_orig.jpg?crop=270,270,x0,y0&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1750357349886","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ftalacastmariachi"},{"teacherId":6052666,"projectId":9138686,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your contributions to my classroom. The beginning of the 25-26 school year has been a breeze. The students have access to needed supplies from day one. For example we were able to assemble our learning notebooks with the use of the glue sticks that I had in stock. I was able to provide students notebooks who needed them. The beginning of the school year can be stressful for students and my students didn't have to worry about not having school supplies in my classroom.\r\n\r\nThe plastic bins allowed me to organize my monthly lessons on diversity. In September the school celebrates Hispanic heritage month. I have a bulletin board display and activities that teachers to use during the month to enhance their instruction during the month. \r\n\r\nThank you again.","fullyFundedDate":1744298206981,"projectUrl":"project/learning-materials-inventory/9138686/","projectTitle":"Learning Materials Inventory","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Johnson","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/272x272/tp6052666_272x272.jpg?width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1541877627951","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/6052666"},{"teacherId":6052666,"projectId":8949714,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your donations. I am pleased with the impact the board games have had on my students' social-emotional skills. I have seen students who usually don't socialize with anyone actually encourage others in the class to play with them. It is also exciting to see students learn to play a game that they aren't familiar with and become good at it. Along those same lines, these same students are learning problem-solving and teaching others how to play. This project has been a blessing in my classroom, and it is all because of you. This has made their learning so much organized. Students love it because they can easily find information about previous covered topics easily. The highlighters come in handy when we need to highlight important information in a paragraph instead of writing the whole sentence down. The students appreciate the clipboards when we do gallery walks in the classroom, because they are able to clip their graphic organizer to the clipboard and walk around the room taking notes.\r\n\r\nThis project has also allowed me to provide notebooks to students who didn't have one in the first place.
