The fidget toys and cause-and-effect toys you helped provide have already made a meaningful impact in our preschool special day class for students with autism. These materials support sensory regulation and help our students stay calm, focused, and ready to learn. We are seeing increased attention during small-group and tabletop activities, allowing students to participate more successfully and for longer periods of time.\r\n\r\nIn addition, these toys are powerful tools for motivation and engagement. We use them as rewards and incentives, which encourages positive behaviors and task completion. The cause-and-effect toys especially spark curiosity and exploration, helping students understand how their actions create outcomes. Because of your generosity, our classroom is a more engaging, supportive, and joyful learning environment where our students can grow, explore, and succeed. The specialized materials you helped fund—such as the fidget tools, building blocks, cause-and-effect toys, and sensory resources—have made a remarkable difference in how my students learn and engage every day.\r\n\r\nFrom the moment the boxes arrived, the children's faces lit up with wonder. The Light table has become a favorite spot in the classroom, inviting exploration and creativity as students experiment with colors, shapes, and patterns. The Math manipulatives and gears moving monkeys set has encouraged problem-solving and teamwork, helping my students develop their fine motor and cognitive skills while having fun. \r\n\r\nMeanwhile, the kinetic sand, playfoam pluffle, and messy trays have been wonderful for meeting sensory needs—offering calming, hands-on experiences that support focus and regulation. They can squish, squeeze, and explore these textures in ways that help them feel calm and focused. The Do-A-Dot art paint markers and fine motor hedgehog have inspired new levels of creativity and hand-eye coordination. It's been amazing to see how these tools have boosted not only fine motor development but also confidence and independence.\r\n\r\nEvery one of these materials has found a special place in our daily routine, supporting my students' sensory, cognitive, and social-emotional growth. But most importantly, they've brought joy—the kind that fills the room with laughter, focus, and connection. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for helping my little learners explore, create, and grow each day. Your generosity has made our classroom a more inclusive, engaging, and happy place to learn.","fullyFundedDate":1756357102717,"projectUrl":"project/little-learners-building-skills-through/9640658/","projectTitle":"Little Learners: Building Skills Through Play","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Escovar","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp10216063_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1755843511702","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10216063"},{"teacherId":10177406,"projectId":9596284,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for your generous donations to my classroom project. One student who was feeling upset and missing his daddy was able to go to the calm down space, rest on the couch, and look at his family picture. Having a safe and cozy spot helped him work through his feelings and return to class ready to learn.\r\n\r\nAnother student, who was struggling to transition back from recess, chose to use the calm down area to quietly read a book. Instead of continuing to feel frustrated, he was able to regulate his emotions and rejoin his peers in a positive way.\r\n\r\nThese moments show how the calm down area gives my students the tools they need to process big feelings, build independence, and return to learning.
