Because of your donations, my students now have access to a beautiful collection of books for our Hispanic Heritage library that truly reflect their culture, language, and experiences. These texts have helped us build important reading skills such as making connections, asking thoughtful questions, and understanding characters and traditions from different perspectives. Reading in our classroom is now full of excitement—students gather eagerly to explore stories, share what they've learned, and proudly recognize parts of their own culture within the pages.\r\n\r\nSeveral students, especially those who see their families and traditions represented in the stories, have been especially engaged. They light up when they recognize familiar customs, foods, or celebrations, and they love sharing their own experiences with classmates. The books also helped us bring learning to life during our Hispanic Heritage celebrations. We were able to create a Mexican ofrenda and learn about its meaning during Halloween time, as well as decorate our space with papel picado for our school's Hispanic Heritage assembly. These hands-on experiences made the learning meaningful, memorable, and deeply personal for my students.\r\n\r\nThank you again for making this possible. The arrival of the dress-up clothes and baby doll accessories has sparked a level of engagement and oral language development that is truly moving to witness. In TK, play is the most important work a child does. When my students step into the dramatic play center, they aren't just \"playing house\" or \"playing doctor.\" They are practicing empathy, negotiating social roles, and building complex narratives.\r\n\r\nI have watched students who are normally quite shy find their voices while wearing a police uniform or a construction hat. The baby doll accessories have been particularly impactful; they allow my students to practice caregiving, which fosters a sense of gentleness and responsibility. These materials provide the props for their imagination, allowing them to transform our classroom into a bustling community. These interactions are where the foundation for lifelong social skills—sharing, conflict resolution, and collaborative storytelling—are built.\r\n\r\nThe seat sacks you provided have been a total game-changer for our daily flow. Now, each child has their own \"home base\" right at their chair. You can see the pride on their faces when they independently tuck their folders away or retrieve their crayons from their individual crayon boxes. These seat sacks have given them a tangible sense of ownership over their space. \r\n\r\nYour investment in our classroom goes far beyond the physical items. For many of my students, this is their first formal experience with school. Because of you, their first impression of education is one of abundance, care, and excitement. I've already seen students independently choose tools that help them calm their bodies and refocus during challenging moments.\r\n\r\nWhen students first saw the materials, they were excited and immediately curious about how everything worked. They were especially drawn to the fidgets and flexible seating cushions and asked thoughtful questions about when and how they could be used responsibly. Many students shared that the calm corner made them feel supported and understood, and they were eager to try the timer and new seating during class activities. Their positive reactions showed how much they value having tools that support both their learning and emotional well-being.\r\n\r\nThanks to our donors, the next steps for my students include using these tools consistently as we work through longer assignments, group projects, and test preparation. My students are able to meet their weekly goals because of this equipment. \r\n\r\nNext, for my students struggling with oral fluency, using the earphones allows them to use apps and websites to listen to fluent readers read to them. This has improved their confidence and their oral reading dramatically. Similarly, my students learning English as a second language get a bit overwhelmed with the writing process. Using the built in microphone(s) allows them to utilize speech to text on longer writing assignments, demonstrating what they know but struggle to put into print independently.\r\n\r\nFinally, the books have motivated my students to read more, reaching their weekly required minutes.
