Using the props helped me to teach students social emotional skills that they will need as they grow up such as emotional awareness, self-regulation, cooperation, and problem-solving through fun, creativity, and play. The materials are unique in that they keep students engaged while helping them make connections to the skills being taught.\r\n\r\nThe props have been used in various settings, including individual interventions, small group counseling, and whole classroom lessons. A memorable time was during small groups, students use the props to role-play real-life situations. Through hands-on interaction and imaginative play, students were able to demonstrate understanding of the skills and explain how they could apply them in their own lives. The props make learning feel exciting and meaningful, which helps students better remember and retain what they have learned.\r\n\r\nMy students responded with excitement seeing and using the props. Many students were eager to participate and expressed curiosity about how the props worked. Their positive reactions created an engaging learning environment where they were motivated and confident while learning new skills.\r\n\r\nMoving forward, I plan to host more lunch bunch groups so that more students can benefit from learning social-emotional skills during their lunch and playtime. Students will get to create lasting items with the props that they can take home to share with their families. Another future goal is to collaborate with teachers to integrate these props into classroom instruction, allowing social-emotional skills to be reinforced throughout the school day.\r\n\r\nYour support has helped make social-emotional learning engaging, memorable, and impactful for my students. Thank you for investing in their growth and success.","fullyFundedDate":1758809953725,"projectUrl":"project/social-emotional-props-for-kids/9618300/","projectTitle":"Social Emotional Props for Kids","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Ly","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/8985655"},{"teacherId":9572072,"projectId":9035006,"letterContent":"I want to extend my sincerest gratitude for your generous donation to our classroom library. Your support made it possible for my 6th graders to have access to a rich, diverse selection of books that not only sparked their curiosity, but also helped many of them fall in love with reading in a way they hadn't before. From graphic novels and fantasy adventures to heartfelt stories they could see themselves in, your gift opened doors to imagination, knowledge, and empathy.\r\n\r\nIn our classroom, books became more than just stories on a shelf—they became bridges between students, starting conversations, building confidence, and helping kids see the world through new lenses.
