They have been using these materials while writing their Extended and Short Constructed Responses to their Reading prompts. \r\n The students were very excited to get their complete sets of highlighters because many of them did not have the necessary materials to complete their work. They were excited because we got extra highlighters in case any would run out.\r\n The strategies that we use in my classroom has helped all my student populations including my English Language Learners and Special Education students. With your help, I was able to take the first step and provide a novel of which they had only read an excerpt in their district basal book. They have expressed their excitement of finding out what lead to what they have already read and finding out how the story ends.
