  • Fine Motor Skills through Art

    Funded Nov 5, 2024

We really appreciate your generous donation. We used some of the resources for our end of the year celebrations unit. Our preschoolers created nice ornaments, and a keepsake with their hand print. The rest of the items are still being used during center time and hopefully will last until the end of the school year.

The students were excited when they saw the new material that they had the opportunity to work with. It may seem that is not a lot what they are doing but at their age is so important to allow them to develop their creativity with fun projects.

We are planning more activities were different media tools can be provided to continue fostering their fine motor skills. Also, art is an important part to aid their creativity but to explore and get to know the world around them. Their self expression will be enhance through these new projects and their cognitive skills will bloom.”

  • Snacks to Crash Hunger in Preschool.

    Funded Sep 20, 2023

I really appreciate your generosity by contributing to my project. The snacks are saving my students from being hungry or in a bad mood before the end of the day.

We are a full time preschool, my students stay after 4 pm. Having the chance to have a snack in the morning and afternoon makes our day much better.

Because we are a Title I school most of our student's families don't have the means to provide a healthy snack daily.

It is really sweet to see their happy faces every time that I open a new box of snacks. They cheer and eat happily.

Thank you again for supporting teachers and helping us through the school year. I value your efforts to improve education and believe in early childhood education.”

  • A Mac for My Student's Apple of Knowledge

    Funded Sep 21, 2023

I really appreciate your generosity by contributing to my project. The new computer is helping me not only with different programs but also by saving time when I work.

Our students use iPads and now I am able to run ipad Apps in the computer and use them through our smart board.

When they first saw the computer itself they were not very excited but when I showed them what I was able to do with it, they were amazed.

Being able to work in the whiteboard app and edit the currently open file helps me modify activities when needed. I do not have to close the file and edit it, everything can be done while using files.

We are also taking advantage of airdrop. I can share websites, images, or files while they are working with their iPads. With just one click they are able to accept the files and we can continue working with different activities or topics.

Thank you again for supporting teachers and helping us through the school year. I value your efforts to improve education and believe in early childhood education.”

  • With Chair Pockets We Can Organize School Supplies!

    Funded Aug 16, 2023

I really appreciate your generosity by contributing to my project. At preschool it is important to start acquiring organizational skills and the chair pockets will help my students stay organized with their basic school supplies.

When they first saw the chairs with the new chair pockets and their names they felt excited that each one of them had their own. They saw their pencil case and their communication folder and all of their articles also labeled with their names.

We are still working on keeping school supplies in their own chair pockets, but they are moving forward on acquiring their organizational skills. It is nice to see less crayons on the floor and so far no more pencils are lost.

Thank you again for supporting teachers and helping us through the school year. I value your efforts to improve education and believe in early childhood education.”

  • Smartboard for the Little Ones, We Can Do It!

    Funded Feb 8, 2023

The smart board brought a new kind of engagement from our students. They are really interested to participate during meetings and morning circle. The students really like to interact with the activities by clicking or touching the screen. They are able to acquire their own knowledge in a different and unique way.

I was able to download different apps that make the lessons more interesting. It is incredible to be able to work with ten frames, number value and counters at the same time.

The most remarkable thing is that students that are usually shy and quiet are willing to participate more.”

  • Effectively Organizing our Classroom

    Funded Nov 30, 2022

Thank you very much for your generous donations. It was really nice to put together the storage cabinets and start organizing our classroom. The students were surprised because some things were moved around. Now the students that serve as snack helpers can access the cups and help the other students. It is rewarding to open the door and see everything in order and easy to reach anything. We, the adults in the room need to open the door when the students need something. It is easier to control who is accessing the cabinets, and what is being taken.

Thank you for supporting in early childhood education and in the inclusion setting.”

  • Weighted Blankets for Sensory Integration

    Funded Sep 9, 2022

Thank you very much for your generous donations. Quiet time or nap time is a very important part of the day for our little students. Some of them need some physical input to be able to relax. These blankets are amazing. They provide necessary comfort and help some our restlessness students. We also used them during circle time, we folded in four and we position them in their laps having a positive effect on reducing anxiety when in large groups

We really appreciate your support for early childhood education.”

  • Dramatic Play Can Save The Day

    Funded Sep 9, 2022

Thank you very much for your generous donations. I was so happy when this project was funded because I knew my students would enjoy the costumes because they will allow them to use their imagination and creativity. I usually let them see the materials right out of the box, but this time was a little different. I unpacked everything by myself and I put it in a storage container for them to discover and be able to touch and use right away.

I purposefully include Dramatic Play - Community Helpers Center for them to be able to use the props. They were beyond excited. They jumped and shouted 'hooray' and immediately started to take piece by piece out and dress up.

It was a really nice selection of costumes. Other than the usual ones they also have airplane pilot, veterinarian, nurse, engineer and even crossing guard. These materials complement the unit about community helpers and what they do for us.”

  • Social and Emotional Learning is Essential

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Thank you very much for your generous donation. We are using the emotions chart every week during morning meetings to share how do we feel. Some of our students are not verbal and it really makes a difference. They can choose to pick a card and let us know how they feel when they arrive to school. It is very comforting for them to be understood when they cannot express themselves through words.

The fidgets really allowed many of the students to have a break during group meetings and they have the necessary sensory input to help them achieve their social emotional goals.

Also, the calming dog is therapeutic for some of our students. Students can disperse their frustration or negative feelings just by holding and seeing the different colors.

Again, thank you very much for your valuable help and for believing in early childhood education.”

  • Creativity Makes The World A Better Place

    Funded Sep 7, 2022

Thank you for your generous donations. Art is one of my students' favorite subjects. Since we receive the materials, we have completed fall, winter, holidays art projects. One of the projects includes a banner size piece of paper where they could use all the new rollers with different designs, and they were able to see the different patterns that the new material could produce.

When they saw the materials, the students were asking if they will use those new things. i told them yes, and they cheered because they love to try different things.

I am very happy that there are people that care and value early childhood education.

    Thank you again!”

Some students need extra support to stay focused on the task at hand. Chair Bands for kids with fidgety feet and the EDsportshouse Sensory Toys Bundle-Stress Relief Fidget Hand Toys for Kids can help them to calm down and focus for longer periods of time when working on literacy skills with the First Little Readers: Guided Reading Level A: A Big Collection of Just-Right Leveled Books for Beginning Readers. For example, some students are constantly touching things around them. If they were holding this fidget toy it would allow them extra time to stay focused. The process to prepare them to learn to read will be more efficient.
