Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

At our school we have a great digital math program that supports our students in addition to our core curriculum. Zearn aligns with the current math topics students are working on in class. On Zearn students can develop their fluency, watch videos from virtual teachers, and answer problems independently. Research shows that 90-120 minutes of Zearn, or 3 lessons a week, greatly impact students math scores.

How to become a math person: step 1: be a person, step 2: do math.

It is our goal at our school that all students develop proficient math skills. The specific items requested will serve as incentives for students who are reaching Zearn goals. Currently I am making weekly school announcements and printing certificates to celebrate the students' success. Students are motivated to be shouted out for their hard work each week!
