My Project

In our small but mighty library, we need a graphic novel section for engaging students in all sorts of stories. Reading can seem like a lost, simpler pastime in these days of screens, phones, and immediate events. For many of my students, they are also lost. Lost in educational challenges, family traumas, economic struggles, and sometimes even lost at school.

Graphic Novels provide opportunities for building vocabulary, verbal and visual literacy, improving comprehension, and engaging with every reader and their varied interests.

They provide learning opportunities, and graphic novels are also some of the most popular monthly titles that school libraries circulate.
