Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The team consists of highly motivated and energetic 7th and 8th graders who will lead our school towards becoming a sustainable school. They worked hard to conduct an assembly to educate our staff how about the importance of recycling, how to properly recycle, and why our school should be a zero waste school. Our school is located in a shared building where no proper sorting stations exists throughout the building.

Our Race Against Waste team understands the impact of petroleum-based products on our environment.

We aim to train students to properly recycle and eventually reduce the amount of trash sent to landfills. In order to effectively do so, we aim to have all of our classrooms, offices, and hallways equipped with recycling sorting stations.

My Project

Students will be educated on the importance of recycling so that they can make everyday choices knowing that everyone can make a difference. Children are our future, and if we educate them about how to be responsible citizens of this planet, they too will continue to educate others around them.

We need Rubbermaid Slim Jim 3-container Recycling Set of three, strategically placed in the rotunda.

These bins are large enough for students. staff and visitors to sort their trash.

Our Race Against Waste team will be conducting grade-level assemblies to educate all students about the impact of non-renewable resources ending in landfills. They will train students to properly recycle in the classrooms, hallway and cafeteria. Upon the assemblies, students and staff will know how to use our sorting stations to properly recycle.
