Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As part of our ongoing efforts to create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment, I am enhancing our self-regulation area to better meet the diverse needs of our students. This space is designed to help students manage their emotions, practice mindfulness, and develop the skills necessary for emotional and behavioral self-regulation. To ensure this area is effective and engaging, I am seeking sensory tools, mindfulness resources, noise-canceling headphones, visual timers, breathing cards, comfort items, a small rug to create a calming atmosphere, activity materials such as coloring books, markers, and emotion chart visuals.

These resources will provide students with tools to calm their minds and bodies, helping them to refocus and reengage in their learning.

I believe this will positively impact our classroom culture and support students in developing lifelong self-regulation skills. If you are able to contribute or know of resources that could support this effort, I would greatly appreciate your assistance.
