My Project

Our funding project aims to create a serene and supportive Zen Room for students, providing a dedicated space for small group activities and individual decompression. This room will have comfortable seating, calming decor, and resources to help students manage stress and enhance their well-being. By offering a tranquil environment, we hope to foster a sense of peace and relaxation, contributing to the overall mental health of our student community.

The Zen Room will offer a holistic approach to student well-being.

It will feature a shredder that serves dual purposes: ensuring the secure disposal of confidential documents and providing a unique tool for Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) lessons. During these lessons, students can symbolically shred negative thoughts or worries, promoting emotional resilience and positive coping strategies. This multifunctional approach not only enhances the utility of the Zen Room but also supports the holistic development of our students.

Ms. Owens Rowland Elementary School Grades 3-5
