My Students

My students love to learn! My class is a diverse group of learners, and although they may come from a wide range of backgrounds, languages, and skills, they are eager to learn and try new things. My students attend an elementary school in a community that is highly impacted by poverty. Half of our population qualifies for free or reduced meals. Despite any challenges they may face, they come to school with a positive attitude.

I can't wait to meet and get to know my new students as we build community and learn from one another in our new virtual classroom!

My Project

Who doesn't love to get mail? Not an email, but an actual hand addressed, stamped envelope delivered to your mailbox! I will use the postage stamps and materials from this project to mail birthday cards, rewards, such as stickers and handmade laminated tags, and motivational notes to my students. I will also send my students stamps so they can write back to me!

Since we cannot get to know one another in person for the time being, sending cards and notes with these materials will help me connect with each of my students individually.

School and learning should be fun, and since I cannot make it fun in ways that I am used to, I can do this to bring some joy to my students during these unprecedented times.
