Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Do you love to take pictures with your digital camera? Once having done so, you either need a computer to view image or view it on a tiny screen on the camera. Then you brag to everyone to come see. With a photo printer in the classroom, we can instantly print the pictures and not have to wait.

I teach 4th grade in a public school.

We are located in an urban school in the county of Los Angeles. Our school is located in a low socio-economic, bilingual community. Most of these students are English language learners, many of which also come from disadvantage homes where they may not have access to a printer that can print those pictures to have as lasting memories.

My Project

With access to a photo printer the students will instantly be able to use pictures taken with the classroom digital camera. The students won't feel they need to wait until I go pick up pictures days later, or have to get pictures printed on a regular sheet of paper. When having the pictures printed they will be able to make projects such as memory books, specific content area flip books, and document science experiments with pictures. Having access to a photo printer will encourage their participation in activities and enjoy viewing their enhanced projects.

By having the printer in the classroom students will also be able to share special memories with their family.

The students will be able to keep their special memories and will be able to look back years from now and share their education memories with their own children.
