My Students

Do you remember what it was like to hear your teacher or parent read aloud to you? Children need exposure to captivating stories that are rich with language. Our boring basal readers are not inspiring!

My students are fantastic learners with minds ready to absorb stories that are rich with diverse characters.

We long to learn about characters that intrigue us! We want to laugh along with Olivia. We want to caution the pigeon about the dangers of driving the bus. We want to make connections with David as he gets himself in trouble. Help us become captivated!

My Project

I am requesting 15 books that are not a part of our basal reading series. The books I am requesting are hardback books because I want these books to last for the MANY years that I plan to continue teaching. These books are not a part of the curriculum at out school; but they are necessary to help engage and inspire life-long readers! I am also requesting a Mem Fox book for teachers and parents. I plan on educating parents with Mem's excellent and compelling reading tips.

This project will make a difference in the lives of children.

Our students need to hear stories read to them that EXCITE them and ENCOURAGE them to turn off the television and pick up a book!
