Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from an area of the highest poverty. Because of this, there are few high school programs out there that offer great training in STEM related fields. We are trying to do this for our kids.

Our students are a part of a STEAM magnet and have a passion for computer science and engineering.

Because of this we are working the best we can to offer these students a one of a kind classroom experience they may not have gotten thus far in their education. We want to serve this underrepresented group in STEM and ensure the are on the path to success when it comes to post secondary options.

My Project

Often times students do experiments in science and keep everything very well organized in their own interactive notebooks. They are constantly checking their own information and doing everything on a very personal scale. This project looks to change that.

With these giant sheets of graph paper and blank posters, students will be able to make big charts of their data, allowing them to think bigger and collect more data which is always better.

These would allow students to make graphs of their data and present it to other groups. They could present their data and defend it in front of the class. This also allows for the comparison of data across periods, allowing all students taking chemistry or physics the opportunity to see what their peers came up with in the same experiments.
