Help me give my students the classroom supplies they desperately need to enrich their learning.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Beepat's classroom raised $157
This project is fully funded
Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are diverse, eager to learn, and have active minds. For most of them this is their first learning in a school setting. Many of them come to school lacking the necessary supplies and often are not exposed to different learning materials outside of the classroom. They love to engage in hands-on activities where they get to show off their skills. The majority of my students come from low income homes and live in shelters, Section 8 housing and in public housing. The majority of the students are English Language Learners, and many have Individualized Educational Plans. They all receive free breakfast, lunch and snack. They face many challenges in their daily life, but come to school eager to learn. They try their best to attempt tasks even when it is challenging. We have a strong sense of community, and we exhibit empathy for each other.
My Project
These classroom supplies will be used in the classroom to keep students writing tools organized and easily accessible when needed, this way they can become more independent.
The pencil cases will be used to keep students writing and drawing supplies contained due to Covid restrictions, as the students are unable to share supplies.
The baskets will be used to store pencils, crayons, markers (dry erase, erasers). Some items will be sent home to help students to complete homework assignments. The computer mouse will allow students to navigate the learning website from the classroom destop computer independently.
Nearly all students from low‑income households
Data about students' economic need comes from the National Center for Education Statistics, via our partners at MDR Education. Learn more
