Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Our school is a career and technical high school. The majority of students are male 20% of our school population is female. We strive to make our school welcoming and supportive of the young professional women who attend our school.

Every month we host a young women summit where our female students are encouraged to meet with the support staff and build connections.

They build their professional skills in communication, problem-solving, and managing school climate in a predominantly male environment. The young women are thrilled with allowing them to form bonds with the other young women in the building plus building lasting connections with the female staff.

My Project

Our young women will be exposed to practical ways to relieve anxiety through the use of sensory items designed to comfort. As they grow, student’s senses are their most familiar and most basic way to explore and process new information. The use of sensory items enhances learning through hands-on activities that stimulate the student’s senses. The use of fun and valuable stress relief tools will assist in skill development and building coping strategies modeled by adult women they trust.

Dealing with such stress can be difficult; it can have severe effects on one’s health and cause strain in relationships.

The benefits of a stress ball are great. Stress causes a great deal of physical tension. Using a stress ball helps to reduce this tension from the body, ensuring that the action benefits your muscles and other body parts. The reflexology theory has proven that vital organs are strengthened by using this technique, as the various organs in the body gain relaxation and strength through the useful function of energy pathways. The use of the ball will enhance blood circulation throughout multiple parts of the body.
