My Students

Were you ever fascinated by light going through a glass and changing? I want my students to have a chance to experiment with light in my science classroom.

I teach science in a school in Brooklyn with a 57% poverty rate.

I work with 250 second grade to fifth grade students. My students are always full of questions. They enjoy doing experiments in class, observing, manipulating materials, measuring, and making predictions. They love to learn how scientists gather and share information.

My Project

My students need lens demonstration sets and LED light box and optical kits to study optics and learn about light. These sets will provide the opportunity for my students to get hands-on experience with lenses of different sizes and shapes and a better understanding of the laws of refraction and reflection. The sets also come with nine activity cards for demonstrations and experiments that they will be able to conduct in class.

I want to foster my young scientists' interest in learning more about the world around them.

By donating these materials to my classroom, you are helping me encourage my students' love for inquiry and science.
