Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My 7th grade students have spent this year learning about the importance of Science and how it aids in the development in patience, perseverance and gives them a healthy dose of skepticism. As a teacher, in a low-income/high poverty school district, my students are faced with a plethora of challenges both inside and outside the classroom. So the minute they step into our room I focus on their individual potential and growth.

I am hopeful to inspire my students to continue on a path of academic excellence and the importance science can have on them.

My students are intelligent, goal driven young adults whose experiences should not be hindered based on their socioeconomic status. Instead they should be creating meaningful experiences outside of the classroom that they will remember for a lifetime.

All of my students receive free/reduced lunch based on their socioeconomic status. Often times, their status may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical”. With your help, we can give my students the opportunity to engage in creative and meaningful learning experiences and gain unforgettable memories that may be too expensive for many of them and their families can afford.

My Project

My students will earn a sense of joy and memories most people never get to experience in their lifetime. They will enjoy the inclusion with their fellow classmates and a thrill for Science!

Students growing up in the inner city deserve to experience all of the wonderful activities Liberty Science Center has to offer.

Young students are natural scientist, taking in every detail in the world around them. Liberty Science Center is devoted to hands on learning. My students will have the opportunity to explore exhibitions on each floor as well as the breathtaking planetarium to view a short film.
