My Students

I am teaching a Robotics class in my school but I don't have enough computers for my students to program their robots in small groups.

I teach science in a school in Brooklyn with a 57% poverty rate.

I work with 250 second grade to fifth grade students. This year, I am working with a small group of students from grade 3 to 5 in a robotics team. My students are always full of questions. They enjoy doing experiments in class, observing, manipulating materials, measuring, and making predictions. They love to learn how scientists gather and share information.

My Project

I need two laptop computers so my students can use them in our Robotics class. For the younger learners, robots and robotic technologies can foster interest in the fields of science, mathematics and computer fundamentals, as well as teaching them skills such as: responsibility, problem solving, decision making, goal setting, self-esteem, logical thinking, sequencing, troubleshooting, modification skills, engineering basics, and computer programming.

Robotics is a great way to get kids excited about science, technology, engineering, and math.

My students love our robotics class but in order to accommodate more students in the class, I need two more computers. By donating these materials to my classroom, you are helping me foster my students' love for inquiry and science.
