Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students come from low-income families. Many of them have endured levels of poverty and trauma. They are bright-eyed and eager to learn with proper guidance and motivation. These young scholars have beat many odds and they are aspiring to be future leaders that will change the dynamic of their generation. Granted they get all the tools necessary to achieve academic goals. There is no limitation on the greatness these young scholars can achieve. I believe in their dreams and I hope you do as well!

My Project

My goal is to have a literacy enriched classroom. I'd like for our learning environment to be equipped with everything necessary to provide the youth of Petersburg VA the best learning experience possible. With the help of donors, you are pouring into the lives of our future leaders! Coming from a low-income background myself, I know what it's like to not have the things you need to get to the goals you're trying to achieve. I'd like to see greater for our youth. My goal is to show them that the world believes in their dreams and aspirations just as much as I do! Help me give these children a learning experience they will never forget! The items I have on my supply list, like the carpet and bean bag, allow alternative seating for children that may have trouble sitting in traditional seating. Pens, pencils, color pencils highlighters are all to help my students express themselves through writing and art. The laminate paper and machine will help me to seal and reuse materials over and over to limit frequent printouts. All donations will allow my students to never be without the tools necessary to learn.
