Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The more kids read the more they learn. These decodable readers help young readers learn that both the alphabetic principle and phonics work. This knowledge can help unlock the world of books. In small group we learn phonics systematically and follow it up with decodable text that contains the phonetic elements taught thus far. Students develop an understanding that words can be decoded.

When provided the opportunity to apply their phonetic skills in class, they can connect to text and become more independent readers.

These decodable texts will help my students practice to break down complex reading skills into smaller, more manageable steps.
