My Students

Our Young Ladies Club is comprised of female students in grades 4 through 7. Our requested cart will enable them to start a mobile school store. Our long term goal is to raise funds to support our Gideon School family and the surrounding community.

Our students attend an inner city school in PA.

They are enthusiastic and motivated to raise funds for a variety of school projects. These projects include helping deserving families purchase school uniforms, coordinating a Thanksgiving Food Drive, providing holiday gifts for children in need, hosting functions to promote parent involvement, and recognizing our award winning chess team with a trophy case. The requested mobile cart will enable them to start a mobile school store to raise funds to support their many worthwhile projects.

My Project

Our students will learn valuable life skills and engage in short and long term goal setting. They will enhance academic skills by running a school store and gain experience in making group decisions. The proceeds from the store will enable them to positively affect the lives of others, thus positively affecting their lives. A mobile cart is needed as there is no space in the building to house the school store. That is the reason they formulated the idea of requesting a mobile cart to have a mobile store.

As a school counselor, I see many families in need of basic items such as food and clothing for their children.

By running a school store, our students will further develop empathy for others and make a positive impact in supporting their classmates and the surrounding community. The mobile cart can make a positive difference by providing the girls with the resource they need to achieve their goal of running the school store.
