This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I love that my students enjoy my excitement for STEM. In the next unit, we will begin our “investigation” into earth science and matter. We also will have a financial literacy unit after that.

Help bring “rocks” to life by making science fun!

I figured that the students could dress up as lab techs and investigators with goggles. This will help focus their attention when defining characteristics of rocks, sand, soil, and seemingly boring earth materials. The students will then use a graphic organizer to compare their findings.

Later, my class will explore US currency and we need play money. I have giant magnetic bills and coins, and we need a surplus of supplies for a solid understanding. To increase comprehension, I will use the play money in workstations along with supplemental aids.
